Ive been in LOVE with the 00-02 CLK for years and its about time I got my hands on 1. I think its the best CLK model made. Im coming from a 92 350hp turbo GSR civic hatchback to a CLK. Im trying to find one with less than 100k and for less than $10k with the AMG package. It seems to be impossible. Im on the east coast. Ive been through autotrader, craigslist, and cars.com and only came up with about 2 cars on the whole east coast that i want. HELP me find my dream car.
Heya 92bubble.
G'luck with the search!
Just a few heads up when evaluating the car (things not normally covered in a used car inspection):
-try to get one with a recent spark plug change (they're kinda expensive @ 16 plugs and labour cost and a pain to DIY)
-check that the driver's side mirror is working properly and dims properly (~$450 mirror replacement)
Cheers!

The only trim that you can go with that fits what you want is the CLK430 coupe. If you want the cabriolet, you can extend the MY to 2003 to get something "a year newer" but these are obviously going to be pricier. If you're willing to sacrifice the AMG body kit and the V8 for better MPG and lower price, go with the 320. AMG is going to be impossible to find for sub $10k in decent condition and mileage.
Unfortunately, these cars hold their value relatively well in contrast with other Euro lux cars so finding one in your price range with less than 100k is going to force you to wait for the right car. Either up your budget a couple thousand or take the hit in miles and you'll be able to pull the trigger quicker.

Autotrader has:
2001 CLK55 w/ 92,515 miles listed for $9990 in New Hampshire
2001 CLK55 w/ 96,000 miles for $9900 in Texas (I prefer Southern cars when buying used)
2002 CLK55 w/ 89,025 miles for $8,495 in New Jersey
Happy Hunting!

the 320's dont come with the AMG kit? Or do people just buy the skirts and put them on? The AMG package consists of the wheels and the skirts, thats it? That would be a blessing if I can find the 320 with the AMG package.Originally Posted by twinsin

thanks. I saw the listing for the CLK55 in Jersey. Texas is just too far for me. Thanks again.

Explore2001/2002 CLK320's were available with a 'sport' package (option CP1). That included the tires, wheels, front and rear bumpers, and the side skirts.
Here's a link to all the options, specs, equipmentand prices for the 2002 model year.
Before buying a 320, I recommend driving a 430. Before buying a 430, I recommend driving a 55. Before any money changes hands, I recommend a PPI. Best wishes.

In all my searching for a 320 (online and on the road) I have never seen a 320 with CP1. Originally Posted by MarcusF

But that will go to show how rare it is and I'm sure a 430 will be extremely close or maybe even on par with a CP1 320.
