Appreciate your work Pancho. The part number brings up several model applications and the w209 in particular via google. I've read on this forum on more than one occasion that the 209 part is superior to the 208. What I didn't see was whether the part applies to v-6 as well.

Did anyone ever find out if the 209 engine mounts will fit the 320 motor as well??? I am about to buy motor mounts and want to buy the 209 mounts so they hopefully last longer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

As long as you don't mind getting your hands dirty and spending time fixing your car this is a fine DIY. As everyone says the driver side is definitely more difficult you'll need a 5/8 for the top bolts. For the driver side I removed the windshield washer reservoir and also had to move the compressor (with hoses still attached)....the passenger side was a lot easier I just removed the air filter and it's box,I also removed the alternator for easy positioning,don't torque the nuts on the back of the alternator to much,I broke the Smaller one and ended up having to drill a hole into the broken screw and screwing a smaller screw into that,rigged,but better then spending unnecessary money IMO.While under there check to make sure you put the hoses securely back on the reservoir and on the top to,because strangely one of the hoses to the reservoir has antifreeze coolant coming from it. I changed both of these motor mounts and the car still shifts gears rough sometimes,but the motor mounts are secure and the engine no longer has play in it,so the only thing left is the transmission mount which is said to be very easy. I appreciate all the help I've found and hopefully this will be extra help to someone

Definitely a very doable DIY. I found it easiest to get all the bolts from under the car with some extra leverage necessary to break loose the top bolts. Took me 1.5hrs including jacking. Thanks Pancho!

Who puts a 16mm bolt there??? I have been trying for over an hour to get them loose. If you reach up with one arm to find it, you can't reach up with the other to secure it. And I'm very much not a weakling. So many times this has been an issue. These things are overthought and break too often. I'm done.

Okay when you guys have stopped the biatchiin, thought you'd like to know that I replaced my engine mounts today, worked entirely from underneath the car, not too bad but I found I had to loosen some pipes as they were in the way.
Anyway drivers side mount was totally shot but then they have been on the car for 160K miles !!. New mounts fitted and the car feels like silk !!

Thank you for your Informative diy. I did both motor mounts and the Trans mount in less than two hours. The stealer had quoted $188 each motor mount plus $88 for Trans. I got them online for $88.50 for all three. Went right in and car is so smooth!

It is very difficult to get a proper write up on this issue and this one, with the sharp pictures, is brilliant. If I go to WIS/ASRA it says that you remove the serpentine belt, alternator, aircon compressor etc, etc, but I cannot believe that is required. I drive a 2003 S55 AMG Kompressor (205000 Km = 127000 Mile and I got body vibration at idle and at run between 2000 & 3000 rpm so I think it is the mounts and not the prop "Cakes"). To me it looks like this write up applies also to my car (Perhaps mounts as such different but I doubt it). Any take on this (Compatibility). Other posts make mention of removing the sway bar and/or steering rack, did you guys had to do this also or you managed it without it? The rear mount I did on a s320 and that was very easy.

Just did my motor mounts today on my 2000 CLK430 Cabriolet using this DIY! Thanks Pancho! Great job! It took about 2 hours total. Didn't have to remove anything special. The toughest part was to break and tighten the top bolts. The only thing I would add on my model car is to unhook the battery so you don't create an arc if you touch the terminals on the alternator with your wrench (which I did for a split second). The car is smooth as silk again when idling in gear. My mounts were shot at 93,000 miles. So nice to be like new again! Thanks again!
