Tires are too wide??!

today, i tried to put a set of new wheels with the tires setting at 235/40/18

but when the local shop try to put it on, they said it is already rubbing on the inside of the tires by trying to rotating it around

my question is that 235 at the front of a clk320 should fit right?
I checked with MB dealerships' tech advisor, and I was told that it would fit, and I remember seeing people put 235 on the front of their clk at this forum also

just need a confirmation please

Used to be a CLK430
I'm running 235/35/19 in the front with at 35MM offset. Offset sounds like your problem, what are your wheels?

They are Diablo's Delta force wheels. I have no idea what the offset are on them. I emailed them to find out.

how much are spacers if I need them to make the wheels fit? and do i need new bolts if I am going to put spacers for the front? or even the back ?

thanks

spacers are not that expensive.. I think they run about $50 for two wheels. Try www.hrsprings.com

Did the rubbing occur in the front and the back? If you put spacer it might be better to put longer lug bolts.

nick makes a good point... the tires should definitely fit...

it most likely will be the offset that is causing the problem...

I assume, since it is rubbing, that you don't have the wheels on the car... in which case, it should be real easy for you to find out the offset of the wheels since they will be stamped on the backside of the wheels
