All you need to do is pick the boost based on the octane level you will use on the car...

Similar HP gains and alot cheaper, but I don't know anything or heard anything about them
On my E55 it raised shift points (first gear for sure is 6000 on the tach when it was 5750 before) and gave it more mid-range power (lights up the tires at any speed in first).
On my CLK430 it did the same thing and now the car is much more fun to drive.
IMO, money well spent!

Has anyone had experience with this company. Those kinds of gains for $300 is too cheap to pass up if it really works.
sometimes when the price is too good to be true... it may just be too good to be true
It takes a lot of R&D to manufacture each chip different for optimal performance on an individual car basis... if they mass produce every MB chip the same, then yeah, it would be cheap, but also useless...
I guess someone will just have to test it out and report back....
true, it is only all software... but you don't see the like of Microsoft, Adobe, Kinetics, etc... selling their software that cheap

Damnit, you're probably right again. I guess I was just excited at the thought of gaining 10% in HP for 300 bucks. Reminds me of my Dad telling me "Son, you get what you pay for". I always hated hearing that because generally I can be quite the cheapskate.

The Wetterauer chip for my 3.0L Audi is on sale for $299 right now. The Wett is chip is known to be a good quality chip too. They have extensive dyno/real world testing for their products.
The only reason I don't think I would buy from the company linked in this thread is because they seem to be a pretty new company judging by their sketchy webpage setup.

One question, how are these installed or more importantly, is it easy to install...err, by an average joe?
You're down for 3-5 days.

Yeh this chip seems very tempting
Same question as clarkspark... my friend is gettin a M3 and I wouldnt want him to embarrass me too much
Remove ECU and ship it to the tuner for reprogramming. The send it back and you re-install it.

I had mine done by powerchip. There were no performance upgrades. On a dyno there was no change from before. The engine definetely sounds different and the part throttle response is much better. Although when i changed exhaust system there cpu upgrade seemed to be more effective. The increase in horse power on the dyno with the cpu upgrade and the new exhaust system was higher then it should have been with only an exhaust upgrade. I talked with Wayne who seems to be very helpfull. I made him aware that there was not an increase in horsepower. He told me that they are working with Evosport and that when they get more software upgraded he will do them for me for free. He says there will be horsepower upgrades in the future. Also my car now shifts later then it used to. Only in manual mode they dont have the software for auto mode yet.
First day:
They will unsolder the chip, download the code from the chip, email the code to Europe for fine-tuning, solider the chip back and let you go home.
Second visit:
Unsolder the old chip, put in the new fine-tuned chip, test and done!
I will do it in October after come back from vacation.

"WE are still working on it. WE don't see it as a propblem as we are more interested in the improvement in part throttle. you drive 85% of the time on part throttle , and 15 % of the time on wide open throttle. this is important because a dyno can only measure wide open throttle. If you like we can do your Poiwerchip and upgrade for you for free later. It really is just a matter of wether or not you want a dyno number, or if you really want to feel an improvement."
I am very tempted to have a go at it.............
