Groceries in Locked Trunk!

2002 CLK 430 -- NOT CABRIOLET

Read lots of answers here and elsewhere but none work or apply to me.

-Can't open with remote or interior switch.
-Key won't fully insert so I can't turn it.
-Battery is fine.

Is there anything else I can try?
Can I get in through the back seat?

If all else fails can I drill out the lock, and if so, how does one do it?

Thanks
Gonna order pizza now.

I had the same problem with my CLK320....tried numerous times with the metal key that is inside the fob and found that you push the key in then turn to the left at around the 10o clock mark then push the whole lock mechanism in and it should open..

Spray some INOX into the lock, before trying fob key.

Hold the metal key with a pair of pliers - it helps. Spray some light oil into the lock.

Then twist push , push twist - eventually it will open

Open the first aid kit, make hole in bottom, reach in and release seat....crawl into trunk. You can then see what is jaming the latch.

You might have something stuck in latch...don't use pliers on key, it will break in the lock.

After you get trunk open, spray wd40 into lock..leave for a day and then slowly work on freeing the stuck lock.

I always keep one seat w/red tab showing just in case.

Pliers on the key worked for me. Also emptied a half a can of wd-40 into the keyhole too. Good luck.

Don't force the key to turn with the pliers. Just use the pliers to help wiggle the key in and out and back and forth. Takes like 20 minutes of this before you will get it unlocked. Be patient and don't Hulk it.

This post just reminded me to lubricate the keyhole, I always forget to do this. I own my w209 for 10 years and I only lubricated it twice.
