Heated Seat Retofit Question..Again
I posted this before, someone said they had heated seats retrofitted, and that I should contact Steve from NL. Anyone know where I could by the parts (heat pads/switches) and how I would determine if the seats are prewired????
Thanks
Rick

You can buy the parts from steve or you can get raped by the dealership. ;0) You can check to see if they're prewired by removing the trim panel where the switches would be and checking.

Thanks Josh
Hey, how do I get that trim panel off, and do I need to first remove the Climate Control unit? Also, since you had this done by Steve, what did he charge you? Any idea of the parts cost breakdown (assuming pre-wired) and did you have to get a new trim panel with the Heated Seats holes, or do they pop out??
Any help is appreciated. Oh and any more pics of the install other than those already posted????
Thanks
Rick

ALL US spec 208s are prewired for heated seats...but wiring is the easy part in the heated seat upgrade...
Yes - you do need a new panel (I have 3 new ones in stock...and also have some switches as well...)

Hey Steve.....
How much for the trim pieces, switches and heat pads (plus any other parts I would need). I would love to do this retrofit, but I am on a budget... I am pretty technically inclined so I am confident I could do this install myself. But just out of curiosity, what would you charge to do it if you were in the Baltimore, Maryland area???? Also any (free) advice would be appreciated???
Thanks
Rick

If you do this, see if you can disable the automatic shut-off times. My heated CLK seats were very slow to get warm. Any by the time they got warm the timers kept shutting them off. My dealer said the CLk had smaller heating elements than the others, and were not very effective. Check one out before you do it.

My heating elements start to burn my *** after a while, but disabling the automatic shutoff is easily doable. I don't know the exact procedure, but I know people have had it done

Hey Josh K
Josh,
Where are you located and what did Steve charge you to do the heated seats (parts/labor if you know)? I emailed him and am awaiting a response.
Thanks
Rick
