#1 Pads & Eibach springs/Koni shocks

Is anyone running this setup on thier W208? It looks sick but I swear after the springs and pads, the car dropped to almost a full 2+ inches. It looks tight, but the ride is rough, even after I put Koni adjustables. If I go to #2 pads, what should I expect the difference be between #2's and #1 pads? I am running rubberbands for tires and am thinking of moving up to a bit thicker of a tire to help smoothen things out. Also, I am about to get the RS kit put on and I have this wierd feeling I am going to jack the front of the kit up everytime I go up a drive way or come out of a drive way. Not sure if I want to pull the "mini truck" move everytime I use a drive way.

Try # 3 pad and adjust the shocks to the softest setting. It will get better, but don't expect it to ride like it was before you lowered the car. There is a price to pay for looks and performance.

i'm running #1 pads with my brabus setup... my drop is 2" flat all across all 4 corners..

the ride is still comfortable... i don't find harsh at all... but then again, my springs & shocks are different from yours...

Thanks for the reply..I guess I am not to worried about the stiffness, but I am worried that I am going to be extra careful when I drive. That concerns me. I think I may move to #2 or #3. Is there a way to look at the stock pads that came out of the car to see what they were?

It is a price to pay to look good...absolutely!!

if you want to know what # pad you have, once removed, just count the DOTS on the pad... it will have between 1-5 dots.. thats the # pad you have...

on a stock CLK from the factory, it really shouldn't have #1 pads...

i don't think the CLK can come with #1 pads because in the system, there is no #1 pad meant for the CLK... you'd have to ask them for a #1 pad for a W210 E-class...

Put your car on a lift, and you will be able to see the dots on the pads from underneath.

What is the standard for the CLK W209 or the stock spring pad for....Front?.....Rear?. Thanks for the information guys. I like the drop already on the car, but would love and extra 1/2 all around from my H&R.

i dropped my 3 series at least 2" and I won't do it ever again....though I think the aero kit lowered it even more...it is such a pain in the *** for a daily driver. Once I get a better cash flow and I can afford more then one car, then comes the tuner :-D ....BUT i definately already miss the handling of the lower stanced car

i'm not sure... but I don't think the newer W209 CLKs use spring pads... only the older W208 models do...

you may wanna double check on that though...

Could it be that the expensive price Brabus charges isn't just for the name, but there also other benefits?

Danny, what kind of setup did you have before your Brabus suspension? How do you find your current setup compared to the previous? Sounds like you had a good deal on the install, can you hook up a fellow MBWorlder when its time for me to change my suspension

Anyone else have any comments on the Brabus suspension vs. other brands?

Brabus... the cost is mainly just for the name i guess... its pretty comfortable overall, even with #1 pads...

I've driven a CLk430 with a CupKit, and I think its about the same... granted that car had the factory pads of #4 front/#3 rear...

This is the place that did my suspension... www.d2technik.com

the guys there are pretty cool... just get to know them, talk to them about cars... and they'll hook you up with a good deal
