Help...Is this a bluff ????

Guys I am trying to sell my car. This guy have been contacting me a while now and is trying to buy my car without even looking at it. This is what he wrote:

Thanks for geting back to me.As i informed you in my last mail,my client have instructed that the check should be made out to your name provided that you will send the balance back to the agent through WESTERN UNION MONEY* TRANSFER and deduct the WESTERN UNION* charges from the balance so that he can be able to pay the shipping company and also come for pick up.
*
That means that payment will get to you in cashier check of $43,000,. So you are required to deduct cost of your car $34,000 .* when payment gets to you and refund balance $9,000 to the agent's via WESTERN UNION.
*
After payment has reached you and balance sent back to him,so that he will come for the pick up and drive to a prepaid shipper to be shipped to my customer, whileTITLE PAPERS and other necessary documets will be handed over to the agent at the time of pick up.
*
Please Confirm this and provide NAME, ADDRESS! S and PHONE NUMBER for check payment to be delivered to you via fedex courier

Do you think that this is a bluff ????

This is definitely bogus. What the person is trying to do is number one get your personal information. Then they in fact do send you a cashier's check in the amount stated, but the check is bogus and not good. The scam is to get your "$9,000." You try to deposit the check, the bank finds out it is not good, and you are out the "$9,000" that you sent to the other person. The paragraph is a generic one and they just put in your classifed info. I get these all the time on various automobile classifed part ads I have. DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a very typical scam. They will even send you a check that appears to be valid. it only comes up as a bad check after it is run through an international banking center, at which point you will have been screwed. Don't fall for it.

Sounds like a scam for sure. But what you can do is tell the buyer you will wait for the cashier check to clear your bank, which should take about 3-5 business days or have the bank verify funds. You will know by the reply of the buyer if they are trying to scam you.

it's a definite scam...but have a little fun with him - pretend you're gonna go along with it so he wastes his money in mailing the check to you :-D. then say that you gave him the wrong name and make him send another!

It's a scam. You can help with this problem by contacting your local FBI office, or at least your state police, and letting them know.
