Heres a bit of update for Remus exhaust pple asked me about

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/REMUS...QQcmdZViewItem

In the other thread I posted that because people were talking about exhausts and that (remus) was mentioned. So I 1st went to ebay to see the prices, and searched around the web a little bit.

People then started inboxing me asking if I purchased it because obviously look at the price - seems like a good deal. I told them I haven't but was goin to email the guy and see whats up.

So I emailed him and this is what he said about it:
Hi
These are supposed to bolt on. No welding is necessary, although I would recommend it at the joints on any exhaust system in order to preserve it. This exhaust replaces your current exhaust tips with two laser engraved REMUS tips. I am unaware of any additional parts necessary for installation besides basic tools. Thank you for your inquiry
Cole

I looked around on the web and basically saw these go for $400-700 dollars. My question like those who inboxed me, has anyone purchased this from this seller, or the exact item? The remus part # is 509202 0504 - if you haven't purchased from this seller, does anyone own this part number product? If so how was fitment, did you weld, did it add any performance, did it make the sound deeper - do you have a sound clip?

Hopefully, more info can be discussed because for that price I will jump all over it.

ok as for sound... will it be improved (im speaking for the clk320) also would a mod like this void any warranties? i am very interested in purchasing this instead of waiting for a used eisenmann

my guess is and I THINK but asked anyway, it will def sound like an exhaust, it will be deeper and meaner, it will add maybe 1-2 hp at most... i say that because since it will free up flow to the muffler it COULD add 1-2 hp but nothing you will notice imo... i like the eisenmann - but I have other plans that I can use the money towards.

And yes this will do the same thing for ur 320 and will void NO warranties - btw where in NJ are you? IM a lil south of morristown

good stuff - Are you going to order the part on ebay? I wish a few people with remus exhausts preferrably those with that part number can chime in before I click Buy it now, so I know exactly what to expect and what it does.

I have no experience with that brand, but when I was in the market for my exhaust and searching the forums, I found alot of critics that indicated taht the build quality on them was very low quality. I've never seen anyone in this forum with one, so if you get it you could be the first around here. If you get it, make a sound clip because I'm interested in hearing how it sounds. How about the Kleemann exhaust as an alternative if you don't want to pay for the Eisenmann - I think it lists for $700 MSRP IIRC.

I've dealt with Remus, when I was in the BMW world. It's a very popular upgrade there. It sounds very nice. Not too throaty, but with a higher pitch to it.

Thanks for replying... was this a full cat back over at BMW guys? Or was it the muffler with tips like this one? Also, you wouldn't be able to find any sound clips would you...

i know its not on the remus topic, but does anyone know whats a good price on an eisenmann exhaust? I heard eisenmann race can be very load is it true or an exaggeration? My idea exhaust would be a throaty V8 sound and a nice rev almost but not quite like an american muscle car.

here're two links for Remus installed on e34 525i (videos). The sound is from a newly installed exhaust. Sound will change a little bit after 500-1,000 miles

My only issue with the remus for the W209 is that the tips are way too small. Im going for either SuperSprint or eiseman

eismann sounds like it's way too loud.

I made a mistake of putting a Stromung exhaust on my BMW and I couldn't hear my passanger talking to me. Eismann sounds like it would be the same thing.

SuperSprint is a little deeper than the stock, and Remus is too. Unless you want to be mistaken for a Mustang GT, I wouldn't get the Eismann (judging by the sound clip)

The eisenmann race can be pretty loud at low RPM's...It sounds very similiar to a stock SL55, except that the SL55 can still stay kinda quiet at the lower RPM's, whereas with the Eisenman it is extremely deep at around 1000-1800 RPMs. After that, it is very much like a muscle car.

Last week I was driving side by side with an E55. I started hitting the gas so that he would hear me and and race with me, or at least give it enough gas for me to hear it. He eventually hit the gas just a little bit, but I didn't really hear anything. My exhaust totally drowned out his noise.

The eisenmann, SuperSprint and the Remus exhaust's Sounds REALLY good. Deep, but not too loud. Similar to the SL/E 55 //AMG. Eisenmann and S.S. are a bit over priced, but leave us W209 owners with not too many other options. The remus tips again are way too small for my taste. Eisenmann and S.S. are perfect size
