The BEST color for w209

ok give me reasons why i should not get BLACK?

i think its the best color...
but i have heard some bad things about dark color

so tell me what are the disadvantags of getting black?
this will be my 1st car so i dont know nothing about a a car

is it because it gets dirty easily?
or is it because u can get swirl marks?
and will black color look dull after some time?
will it make my car feel hot in the summers?

thanks...

im currently confused wat color to ge.t..silver or black

I'd choose capri blue w/ stone .. But between silver and black, I'd choose black. In my opinion, Black gives more prestige look.

Anw, where u from Vodc4 ? you don't seem like american. Asian ?

Obsidian (metalic) black is far more easy to keep clean than the plain black- in fact it doesnt seem too bad a colour at all

I see a black and obsidian black (OB) cars parked next to each other every day.

-yes the black is blacker
-The obsidian black is still very black though- ie there is no mistake about its colour, it doesn't look grey or purple or anything
-They are very difficult to tell the difference between in a photo
-I believe the OB shows the curves of the car off more nicely. You get different shades as the car curves whereas the plain black is just to reflective
-You still can get a very high gloss in the OB eg can see your reflection
-And its deffinately easier to keep clean

Any other qs feel free to ask
hope this helps

the silver doesnt get dirty a lot, it always looks clean

the silver is always eye catching, spiecaly when the sun is up, and at night the brilliant silver metallic finish looks amazing!

go for the Silver, if ur getting an aventgrade

I won't get black again

I will never buy a black car again.

Black shows every little scratch, swirl mark, water deposit and stone chip.

It broke my heart.

I HAVE HAD A SILVER CAR FOR 12 YEARS AND LOVED IT IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE CLEANED AS MUCH AS A DARKER COLORED CAR. I HAVE ORDERED A BLACK OPAL 2003 CLK 320 JUST BECAUSE I WANTED A CHANGE AND I THINK THIS STYLE ON THE CLK LOOKS BETTER IN A DARKER COLOR AND IT SEEMS EVERYONE HAS SILVER .

black vs. _______

i saw a flat black clk500 on the street for the first time only yesterday. (actually, that was the first w209 i've seen on street.) it looked very good in that color.

i've been one of the posters who's objected to the new body, esp in the lighter colors. but i must admit, the car looked better in black than i'd imagined it would.

although flat black does look good on that car, it'll be a major headache to maintain. it's true that every little imperfection -- stone chip, scratch, ding, even dried water drops and dust -- will stick out. you have to decide if the look of black will be worth the work to maintain it.

OTOH, the dark metallics will look very good and will hide imperfections somewhat better than flat black.

my personal preference is the pewter metallic. i saw that at a dealer and thought that was the best innovation MB released during the 2003 MY, including the w209 itself. (sorry, but i really do feel that way.)

hope my opinion about colors is helpful. i'm looking forward to learning your choice and your reasons for making it.

I just came back from Smythe and they had (at least) obsidian, white, silver, black opal, and pewter. You should just go look at them - trying to figure it out based on pics from the internet is close to pointless IMO.

Black is nice if you have a butler to wash and wax it for you everyday, but between the upkeep issues and fact that it will be blazing during the summer, I would never buy a black car if I had to keep it clean myself.

Be aware (which I think I mentioned to you in a PM) that the salesguy that I talked to at SF mercedes pointed to a tectite gray SL and told me that it was pewter. I believed him (didn't look at the sticker for myself) and actually changed my order because of it - then when I went to Smythe to check on my car, the guy there pointed at the beige color and told me it was pewter. (And again I was stupid and didn't check the sticker) Needless to say, I just about freaked and almost changed my order again. Thankfully, I just went and looked once and for all and am keeping pewter.
