More Horsepower
Without doing major modifications, what are some easy ways to increase horsepower on an MB 302 V-8? How much of an increase can i expect to get? Thanks

It is kind of tricky right now with this being a brand new car to the market, but I would suggest a upgraded air cleaner (K&N) & possible a "Chip" for the computer, if there is one available yet. These are pretty common things & will get you anywhere from 10 to 30 extra horses!

Renntech, Kleeman, upsolute are the people I know make chips for MB, but I don't know for the new E class. Another easy upgrade I've heard are the puleys, but then again your car is so new it is going to be hard to come up with something soon.

Ralph at RBtech is great and does really clean work. The shop doesn't look like much, but it's a lot like small hole-in-the-wall resturants, they usually have the best food!! To be realistic, no one is going to have a huge selection of mods for the W211 at the current moment. Just give companies a few more months & there will be a plethera of aftermarket goodies!!! "Be patient young grasshopper!!" LOL!!

I paste it cuz I read the "numbers" before & after ........
This improvement is significant & free at any MB dealer !!!

my car was still at Mercedes for an alternator repair.
I called the service department,
who promised to do the "feul setting" changes today.
They were interested because although they knew it could be adjusted,
I am the first customer to ask and they too are interested in seeing the difference it makes.
I have a Gtech Pro performance computer so I will be able to give improvements in 0-100Kmh and 0-400M
currentently 5.4 and 13.6sec respectively.
After >>>>>>
I got my car back last night. 0-100Kmh 5.2sec 0-400m 13.3sec.
There is a definate measurable improvement in performance. The ignition timing has nothing to do with emmissions,
but they may be right about fuel settings. It may be easier to ask for your car to be "optimized" for premium
(98RON) unleaded

CLK50K was tested by 4.6" 0~62 mph
