what did you do with the rear speaker? I installed some Focal coaxials running full range, but I'm basically fading my system 75%-80% front so I hardly use them. So my system is mostly my front Focal separates, and my rear sub. Just curious how everyone else set theirs up.

On my E55, I went with Focal coaxials as rear speakers, too.

I was actually just seeing what other CLK members did becasue our rear speaker location is in the back of the door firing into the seat - not the rear deck so it's an odd place.

Cool...my rear speakers are in the rear doors and is a little better than your rear speaker location.

When I had my 2001 CLK430...I just ran MBQuart coaxials...

I faded my rears a bit less than what I'm running in the front. The only other alternative is to use the rear shelf location, but that will require some custom fabrication. I believe fellow MBworld member "v12" has documented an install that used the rear shelf. BTW, those 6/4 pot ///AMG brakes of yours are SICK!!!

I put JL Audio C5-650 in the front and C5-650x in the rear. They add fill although I could have gone with a less expensive model, and achieved the same effect. I have JL Audio 13TW5 sub mounted in the trunk to fill in the BASS.

How's your trunk space? Did you use some stealth enclosure? I have a JL 10w6v2 in a sealed box. Still takes up too much space.

Pat, you have any pics of your trunk? I was thinking of getting a custom box and wanted to see some setups before deciding.

Cool

Here are some pictures of the enclosure they did for the Sub. If you didn't know it was there you would think it is Factory.

Sorry about the pics! I downloaded them from the facebook site and must have resized them. Here is the link to the install, and better pictures.

Very Nice!! How does it sound? Does the sub rattle the glass in the back? Do you know how much you spent in Dynamat? How about the whole install?

Sounds AWESOME now! had to tune the EQ, also had a wiring issue with a rear speaker; that kinda screwed up everything due to the summing of the input signals to the EQ. Doesn't really rattle the window, and the bass was way more than I was expecting. I think we spent somewhere around 250-500 for the dynamat. The install was done in pieces. The part you can't see from the pictures was the MoBridge bluetooth/ipod adapter install. Then we replaced the front & rear speakers, and then finally were the amp, eq, and sub. I would say it cost somewhere south of 6K.

I love the 13W5...I would recommend it to anyone who wants quality bass (low and snappy) with space constraints (low volume box).

I can believe that it would cost in that ballpark area of 6K. I bought some most of my parts used and didn't even upgrade the speakers yet... and no custom enclosure... didn't use dynamat and I spent almost 2K.

Ideally, I'd want to install the sub where the factory sub is and find a better place to hide the amps. My 4 channel JL is huge.

Yes, 13TW5 is very nice. I was very worried when we first discussed installing it. I have a 10w3 stealthbox in my Sequoia and it sounds soooo good. I was very surprised by how much bass the 13TW5 puts out. Plus being driven by the HD900/5 helps!

I'm not familiar with them. Took a look at the website, they are a very nice looking amp. I really like the wood panels. What combination of amp(s) are you running.
