W209 DTM project
Does anyone have an interest to convert their existing CLK W209 into this ?

The price is really really obscene. Just one front left guard is about 4500 USD.
There are two possible roads to take on this.
- external only including brakes / rims / suspension (has to be done same time).
- internal also (steering, racing seat, console)
I think it has been done a few times but I wanted to look at it myself and work with someone preferably in Australia.

lol for the money, you can custom it at a good shop.
a buddy of mine had he rear fenders widened when the 335i just came out. or check out the guy from tsw, his clk was pretty nice too. i think he custom widened the front and rear. i think i started a thread like this a long while back. haha i found a company here in the states that actually made a w209 replica dtm kit. it didnt look the same but was widebody kit. i think it was cheaper than the kit from merc
and i would if i had a clk500 lol. i dont wanan be all show and no go. so dtm is too much for me...for now. maybe when i do a clk 55 conversion in a good couple of years =P

I've seen a few genuine CLK DTM's here in Dubai and think they are stunning, but not exactly a daily driver in most parts of the world. Perfectly flat roads, 14 lane divided highways and 364 1/2 days of sun make this a bit of a unique market though...
There is a beauty CLK DTM cab and currently 3 SLS's at the dealership here right now, best looking car there is the SL63 blackie in matte white though.

Near enough isn't quite enough. Body shops might have some similar product but it's not DTM.

I suppose that when it comes to engineering and crash performance. You might want to say its all factory parts so that you don't have to explain how you engineered the solution. If its all OEM you are entitled to have those parts on your car. If you made the parts yourself .... who was to blame if something went wrong ?

2006 CLK350
looks pretty mean.
too bad hawaii roads don't like low ridin' cars.
my 330ci was lowered and the roads did some damage...i don't know how those gt 911s and ferraris survive.
