HID... sure this has been beaten to death
Again, I'm new to the board...
I have the standard headlights and want to upgrade to an HID kit. What do you recommend and where should I buy it from? Also what else do I need to make sure I dont have any issues...

You probably selected the capacitors as an individual item. If you process the order with just the kit and write in the notes that you need the capacitor, they send it free charge.

Ludwig funny you post this cause I'm looking to get HID's 8000k from HIDExtra.com for my low beams and fog lights in my halogen set up...
Just wondering how the light scatter will look or if the halogens will be ok distributing the beam.
I think...think...clkboi has HID's in his halogen set up...can't remember who told me that...maybe they can chime in...

i hate seeing hid's in a halogen headlamp (unless its a projector based headlamp). it just scatters light everywhere and looks super ricey. its basically the same thing you see on lifted pick up trucks and hoopties.

See and that's my worry...I know how to reaim it the lights after installation but am worried that the scatter will just be too much to even compromise that...

I retrofitted HIDs on my '04 Sienna (now sold) and it never looks right. Yes it is bright but it is too 'veiny' for my taste. You see lots of dark and bright light pattern intermixing. Of course, you cannot forget the glare for on-coming traffic. Sure, you can lower the beam but then you are defeating the purpose of projecting the light down the road.

lol, yea I have had the LED tails for a couple months now. Just haven't been able to install them since some resistors need to be wired. I will probably have the guys doing my audio to take care of it.

Hi guys i have a problem with my HID fogs. The bulbs are fine checked that already. but see the left one turns on and off around every 3sec and the right one is constant on but flickers rapid like a candle light. so i have a 35w HID kit 6000k should i just go ahead and get the error cancellors those things that plug and play between the balast and bulb? that should fix it right? because bulbs are fine, balast if fine, getting nice constant power, checked the circuit with old OEM bulbs works fine. so nothing left except to get the error cancelors or capacitors but i like the plug and play of the error code elimantor thing.

its not ddm balasts i got this balast from a reliable shop from here in jersey. They get the bulbs and balasts from sylvania i think well at least the bulbs. but they used my balast in another car it worked fine. but in my clk it flickers. The idiots tried to keep the stock bulb behind the wheel well and then attach the hid's. yeah sure it worked but i had this yellow underglow in the front wtf lol. but they were just checking something. they were using the stock bulb as a resistor and it worked so now i need to get this error cancelers which should help. thanks dynomite u always come through bro

I am using the HIDExtra kit on my fog lights without the error cancelers, and the only time I get error messages are when I turn the wheel left or right at night, because the fogs try to turn on themselves at that point, which results in flickering. If I start my car at night and manually turn the fog lights on, everything works perfectly.
You can access the driver's side fog light by removing the fog light from the front bumper area.

I don't think I have your model. My fogs stay on they don't turn on during cornering. And do u have the 35w or 55w kit? Because it's weird that yours don't flicker unless they are 55w.

Well, I have an 07 and I think they added the turning-fog-assist in with the facelift. I have the 35watt kit, no flickering...even without the error cancelers.
