Windshield Washer Switch
For my 2004 CLK320, the windshield washer is not coming out anymore. Went to the dealership, I was told that I have a defective switch, the one which we push to release the windshield washer.
The quote was $190 CAN for the part and about 2 hours of labor. Does this seem right?

Found in Parts.com, it"s called signal switch, $80 US. Part: 0005452310.
This is outrageous, I was quoted $196.50 just for the part.
Unfortunately, I do not know of any mechanics who specialized in MB locally in Toronto. I would not go to just any mechanics because I was told that the steering column and air bag have to be removed to change this switch.

Waking up an old thread here. I think I've got the same problem. My washer just stopped working yesterday on my 07' CLK. I turn the key to position 2 and try the windshield spray and I don't hear anything at all. Thought I would hear the pump or something. For now the headlamp sprayers still work so I just hope some of the spray makes it up to the windshield Anyway, I'm thinking its the same problem. My question is: can anyone give some details like where this switch is from under the hood? Maybe even a diagram?

Couldn't find anything about a switch anywhere. I did find on parts.com the washer pump pn 2218690121, only $24. Thinking of getting it and installing however looking under the hood it looks like the pump is on the bottom side of the fluid tank. Has anyone done this job before? I'm guessing it may be easier to go at it from the bottom of the car. I can't think of anything else it could be. Looks like its on the same fuse as the washers themselves and they still work.

The washer pumps corrode & seize. Sounds like your pump might have failed.
Good luck!

The pump is easy to replace. You have to remove the right (US driver's side) front road wheel, then remove the shroud in front of the tire to gain access to the washer reservoir. The pump motor just snaps into place. I'd go ahead and order a new rubber grommet (where the pump seats in the reservoir) as it can leak over the time.

Thanks... I bit the bullet and brought it to the dealer today. They found the pump was ok but there was a corroded ground wire. That sure was a dumb problem to have. Best $150 I ever spent.
