Pre-mod dyno run

As I said months ago, I was going to dyno my car before and after most of the power mods so I can post actual gains. Well, I started today;

221.4 whp What a joke! Great torque but the hp numbers sure aren't very impressive are they?

Anyways, the headers and full exhaust are next, hopefully done by next Saturday then back to the dyno again. The guy that owns the facility let me take my wife for a rip in his modded C63... I've driven C63's before and I tell you, this was nothing like them, absolutely tire shredding power.

Till next week...

Yeah, I pulled 250hp on my baseline (before SC)
Factory C63's are sick, but Modded C63's are insane!

Yeah, I'm totally impressed with your 250 man, that E55Kairbox and Speedtuning ECU flash obviously work well! I'm interested to see what just a better exhaust system will do for me - find out next week I guess.

I'm interested in seeing the numbers after the exhaust and headers. It's nice to see how the facilities are so spotless over there.

The guy that ownes and runs the facility is an Emirati and he's a fantastic guy. I spent a few hours there today just hanging ount with him and having lunch, he's a massive car enthusiast and it shows in the way his shop is operated - really impressed. He's got 2 modded C63's and a GT3 that I am told is absolutely insane (I though the c63 I drove today was!).

They have all my power mod work going forward.

It definitely shows. I have yet to see a tool or tire lying around in any of your pics.

I make it very clear to the guys how picky I am, some of them didn't want to do my work because of it. In the end, I'm fine with that and found some great shops as you've noticed from the pictures.

looks like i need to put my car on dyno too...keep saying that but never done it. So E55 airbox and ECu flashed can get up to almost 20hp ? I thought that was good...really..

Has anyone ever turbo'd one of these engines? I think I big nasty intercooler sticking out of the front bumper would be pretty sweet. Also, maybe a T88 supra turbo with a little Lag to get traction in the top of every gear?

you do know what goes into running boost right?
ie: manifolds, intercooler, gated turbo, injectors, fuel management, wideband, blah blah blah.

i've toyed with the idea but decided it wasn't worth the investment. but it would basically turn into a rear mount turbo setup, clk55 or 63 internals, aem wideband or a rom tune of some sort, so on and so forth. by the time you do all the fab work and tuning on your engine you'll be financially strapped and wondering why your car is still not running. boost isn't as easy as 99% of people think it is.

Yes I know what would be involved. I owned a turbo car for 5 years prior to this one with about everything you could do to it done. I had a little FWD srt-4 up to about 350 whp haha, all it would do is melt tires even with a lot of traction/suspension/LSD mods so you ended up having to feather it until about 3-4k rpms and it got frustrating. I was just wondering if anyone had done it or not. Oh I had the AEM WB on my car also, that's a badass little gauge. I still had an internally gated turbo though, always wanted a big externally gated snail but I decided I had too much $ in that car and a guy offered me the right amount so here I am lol.

Wow...and you thought mine 231 rwhp stock were bad. What dyno machine were the test done on. My guess is dynamic dyno and not dynojet.

Comparing dyno numbers doesn't mean much unless is on the same dyno brand. My guess your dyno number post-SC mods is around 325 rwhp.

Yep, it was run on the heartbreaker - Dyno Dynamics... Mine is absolutely bone stock, not airbox or ECU tune, we'll see what it does with the xhaust done, I'm guessing 15whp.

W208 Clk55 bone stock has made 263@ wheels on exact model dyno dynamics on multiple occasions, so that should be an accurate metric. Even so the car is still low. Did you disengage TC fully by doing dyno mode?

Mine 231 rwhp were bone stock too. 235 with E55 airbox and 242 airbox and ECU tuned.

It's actually just a black housing. The inside part around the actual bulb/projector itself is black, whereas normal ones are chrome. The lens itself is still clear.

Of course.

The headlights were ripped apart and painted, not tint. Legal? Dunno, don't care.

Originally I was just going to do airbox, exhaust and tune but as things go with motor-heads, one thing usually leads to another dioesn't it?

I do find it a little strange that my car has dyno'd quite low as compared to others.

I've got 100,000km on it so it certainly isn't high milage but maybe the cats are getting clogged, airfilters may be plugged up (we did just have a massive 3 day sandstorm here before I ran it), who knows? I'm not worried about it right now whatsoever, if the numbers still suck after the exhaust and airox (with BMC filters) are on, then I guess I might have to consider pulling the motor and doing a little refurbishing.

Again, all part of the game
