Does Your car have this dash panel?

Of course it does, but is your dash panel fully populated with all the features?

On My CLK350 I don't have features like the parktronic, (N72/1s8) the rear sunshade (N72/1s9) and whatever N72/1s19 is. But I would like to fill the button area with the graphics anyway.

So here is the deal. I can get this panel with everything, but to do that I have to have a vin number for a car that actually has these things installed.

I have the heated and cooling seats so I'm not worried about that. So, if you have a car with these features installed (S8,S9,S19) If you are willing to share your VIN number, I can go get an equivalent panel from my local dealership.
I would also be willing to buy your panel out of a wreck if you have these buttons on your dash.

Yes I know it will be expensive to buy new. I'm funny that way. Thanks for your help.

There was a w203 thread where a guy made switches for every spot. I emailed him once and he replied; might be worth a search. Do you really want switches that don't work? I put thermatronic HVAC controls and always feel stupid telling my wife that it won't do things she tries...

It's interesting to see the full list. I too think it's odd there is so much blank space on that panel, but I also think it's kinda weird to have buttons for options your car could never have. Like the rear window shade - that's a coupe thing only. And the parktronic was not a US option. No idea on the 19 one. Rodney may chime in and know. I have never ever seen a car with a full panel. It would have to be a fully optioned coupe from another country. I personally think it degrades your car to have dummy buttons. The only one I ever considered adding to mine was parktronic, becuse my car has aftermarket sensors, and the on/off button is added to the light switch. But then I discovered the switches are not separate - the whole panel has to come that way, and gave up.

19 is for Infra Red motion sensors for car alarm.

Why would you want non operative buttons?

I already have non operative buttons.
Unless I can get them operative, I would just like some graphics for them.

Yeah, I hate blank buttons, too. I was always surprised at how they did it on the W163 ML since it was always claimed to be so low-budget. They actually put the most common buttons in the middle of the panel and then options spread out to the edges. The actual electrical panel had "slots" for all the buttons, but if any were not used, the buttons were not present and wood trim panel for that vehicle was made to be solid and cover the blanks. It's too bad they didn't bother to do this on all models. Even the S-Class has blanks.

I saw in your OP that you said you have seat coolers too. I have always wondered do those just blow air out of the seat to cool down or do they literally cool the whole seat? Also do you use it often? I always wish I had them on hot summer days but wondered how practical they would be

I do have the seat fans but its been a bear getting my mechanic to hook them up properly. As a test he got them running on a toggle switch so we know they work, but to do them properly new wires need to be run from behind the ucp to the rear sam and apparently from there to the seat. Then the sam needs to be programmed to understand the feature is installed.
Lots of work to run those wires properly at MB mechanic prices. And its custom work, not in the book. Like most mechanics he wants to get cars in and out quickly and the faster he can do that the more money he makes.
But work is slowing down right now. He said call him on Monday. So I may finally get that hooked up. I have only the driver's side with the cooling fans so we may only have to run 1 wire instead of two, but that's minor.

Did you buy a set of the perforated leather seats? Doesn't the driver seat like that come packaged with the "multi-contour function - the little aribags inside the seat to adjust the lumbar support etc.?

They barely work. They do not literally cool except they pull in air-conditioned air from inside the car. There is a vent in the seat back where the air is sucked in, then it comes out the holes in the leather. On the highest of three fan speeds you can just barely feel it. I forget about it most of the time.

My original seat came with heat.
The replacement seat from a wreck came with heat/fan perferated, and multicontour. I bought the pump, hoses, and ucp out of the wreck all together.
The heat was easy to hook up because my old seat had heat too.
So everything was in place for that. the pump had to be installed in the original location for this car, the hoses run, etc. Maybe this week I will get my fans too.

I think its located against the side of the car behind the rear seat somewhere or where the rear seat passenger's armrest is. Not exactly sure. The hoses were not very long. 2-3 feet at most.

I would love to put a white lettered sticker that resembles the stock lettering that says "Eject Passenger" or "Laser Guided Rocket" and see how long it takes new passengers to notice.

You could hire a kid who is a graphics design major at a local community college, or maybe even a local high school to find the right font, and you can get a white lettering on clear sticker made at any print shop. Even home label makers can print white on clear decal.

The problem is that on the original buttons the blank plastic buttons are painted black, while the ones in use are white buttons painted black and laser etched so the white shows thru, and the led comes from behind it.
Your decal would be noticably different in finish, and the lettering would not light up.

See the thread below to see all that a person went thru to achieve your goals with a factory finish.

Task Completed

Well it took time and way more money than I thought, but I've completed my task. This is what the fully optioned out Upper control panel looks like:

Nice job with the top row!
Did you see the ones in the prior thread cited?

Yes I did. These however are the FACTORY buttons and graphics.
Nothing custom except for the fact that my car does not actually have all these features.
For instance, can't have a rear window sunshade on a convertible.

Oddly enough though, although my car is not equipped (to my knowledge) with the interior sensors that can be turned off (button 7 across the bottom row), when I press the button, now that it has a lens that the LED can peek thru, I can see it flash for a few moments when I press it.
I dunno if that is a function of the panel itself or there is more going on there.
I've modified all my buttons and blanks so they actually press. The non stock ones just don't do anything yet.
