I'd just let them repair it. This is exactly what happened to my rims when I had new tires installed at Costco last year. Apparently, the mount/dismount machine wasn't adjusted properly so part of its metal apparatus scraped my two rear wheel (the fronts were fine). Anyhow, they promise to make it right and the first try was rim repair. They used the same guy my local MBZ dealers uses and it was perfect. Took him less than an hour for both rims.

All factory wasnt responsible...why should they do anything about it? The wheel installer should either repair it or pay to replace it for a new one if you aren't happy. You cant expect the manufacturer to pay for a third party installer's mistakes.

I get mad when they do that. A skilled operator can set the machine so it will never do that number one. And number two ~ all those machines come with protector plastic rings so that this cannot happen but no one uses them unless you demand it. This is why I go and supervise such activity on my car. I won't allow the use of air wrenches to remove bolts either. They always scratch the paint/powder coating in the holes.
