SpeedtuningUSA coming tomorrow.
I will write you with the first impression about the company.Seems like they buy the programs from other companies and do the thing. But..let's see.. I think it might be the similar program as powerchip but slightly detuned.
I should have driven at least 200miles before any dyno but well.. I checked out renntech box in 3days and I only had 7 horses at the wheel. TQ is the same. Which means that the loss of TQ was less as rpms got higher? I will have everything adapted to the car in a week with driving hard and what not.
We will see..

And the new airbox doesn't have the heat shield underneath it because the bottom part is like the stock. Not 100% Carbon fiber but it's definitely designed for a better flow. So I guess I will have to do shielding again. ^^;;

You should have waited a coupl emore days. The group buy is finally done. Grant, yours came out to 200. Just give Oliver at Speed Tuning USA a call and tell him you are part of the benz group buy and pay. Let me know when you do. JLee81, you only got 7 hp from a renntech intake?????? Post nukmbers for the chip as well cuz I'm also very interested to see the results.

it was performed after 5days of install. I don't think ECU had enough time to adapt to itself. I bet it makes more hp but there was another car which dynoed right before me and the facility did not have ventilation system, which means that the air was clogged up with smoke. This also might be the cause and my EGS was reset as well at the same time when airbox was installed. The combination of all mods should be incredible wait for the numbers.

LSD will be installed on Fri. Installer said 3 hour job so i will talk about that later. Headers and downpipes are great if you want more sound out of your exhaust. ECU will arrive this after noon in 3 hours. Hopefully, I would be able to take advantage of combination of better airflow with advanced ignition timing and PT and WOT remapping, and better exhaust flow from this. I do not fully believe in dyno numbers because there seems to be some descrepencies about the dyno #s and real hp. My exhuast sounds awesome and I get hi-beams on highway whenever I pass by other cars, they only hear a pa~~~~~~~~-shum noise and that's it. When I do not press throttle, its quite inside but you can hear the rumble outside.

You guys didnt hear about the group buy probably cuz I posted it on other benz sites cuz you are not allowed to post group buys on this forum. The group buy has already started and if you want in just call speed tuning usa and tell them you want in on the benz group buy. A 2004 CLK500 ECU upgrade costs $250+shipping+$25 shop supplies. If this is an illegal post just take it down, I'm just tryin to help fellow enthusiasts (I am in no way associated with speed tuning usa)

I tried posting the GB about a month ago but it was taken down and I was told no commercial posts are allowed on this site. Anyways, how do you heat shield your intake? I would also like to do the same cuz its sits right on top of the engine and i'm sure this heats up the air going through the intake.

I just bought some from a local dealer who had to special order it. You can get it from www.jegs.com and others. Just take your airbox off, clean it with alcohol, stick this stuff on and trim it and get a few more horses!!

Hey JLee, what happens if you have installed a upgraded chip in your car and you take it to the dealership to get it serviced. How do you know whether or not they reflashed your ECU?

Ok.. This is something that I should not mention but I will PM you the info because it involves another company, so it could be an issue, which I do not want to cause. If you are interested let me know.
Other than that, if it is not true then they are scams and I still have nothing to lose because they did not sell what they advertised, I still get coverage from my CC company.
Dyno will tell me the truth.

I will still get it serviced fine. They don't reflash my ECU anyways.
If what you worry is the real case, then all other tuning companies who sells chips should be bogus as well, since you don't know what they do with ECU.
Another point is that I am in Boston and there is no tuner for ECU here or any REAL TUNER. So, they are all same to me

Did you ever get a chance to do a before and after dyno for the chip? ANd has anyone done a before and after dyno with the heat insulation? I'm seriously considering it but does it come off easy if I ever want to sell the renntech intake?
