W208 CLK55K, GTR, RS5
Posing..Why?
While I was out to lunch with my gf today, I saw a nicely modded W208 CLK 430/320. Silver with; add on lip, Sevas S star in charcoal grey, ducklip rear spoiler and what looked like a nice intercooler tucked in to the front bumper. I told my gf he did i nice job on it, until I saw that he rebadged it as a CLK 55 ///AMG 
Tell tail sign I knew it wasn't a 55 was the interior. I was always some what fishy about this car before. I've seen in running around town before and I've come up to him in my own 55 and he would never bite. I even ran him in my brother's C43, and was able to stick right with him.

Don't these people realize that the only people who know what a CLK55 is will be able to determine that it is a fake? 
99% of the motoring public think that a CLK320 and a CL65 are the same thing

I agree they are very very stupid. But, I don't think they do it for 99% of the population, they are just trying to impress people who know cars (the ones that matter to them.) I'm sure Audi/BMW/Porsche etc. people know the difference between a CL65 and a CLK320.

Gives me an idea! :p I'll simply remove the "K" on the left side of the trunk and my car will instantly have an additional 151hp and have increased $50K in value

I've been pleasantly surprised recently at the accuracy of the motoring public at large ... most everyone who knows about AMG upgrades on MB ... knew pretty much exactly where to look to confirm if it was the real-deal ... (steering wheel/dash board/exhaust/top of motor) ... I even had some chick question why AMG wasn't labeled on my front seats ... like the new ones ...
I'm glad because that means the interest in MB is making a turn for the better ... hopefully along with the quality ...
and those that think they are fooling everyone ... be it their fellow MB enthusiasts who know better ... or ... the general public to look and appear cool with AMG on their trunk lids ... they're not ...
Example: I don't drive a Mustang ... but I can tell a fake GT/McClaren/SVT/Cobra ... any day of the week ... the sound ... the body upgrades that don't fit like it was built at the plant ... and I've seen some that would make you literally laugh if you saw them ... like a Cobra with a V-6 exhaust system and tires half the size of what is supposed to be on the car stock ...
best of all when I ask for their registration and insurance card ... I have to hear a 5 minute canned speech ... definitely well prepared in advance ... as to how their car mistakenly got the wrong paperwork or the guys at Ford put the wrong emblems on the car ...
I should write a book on these clowns ... and it's not just MB ... every car manufacture ... with a high end car has a wannabee fan club ...
