CLK 63 on fleabay

CLK63@DickDyer for buy it now of 91,989 on a msrp of 95,555.

Couple of thoughts:

Isn't this a big increase over the CLK55?

Already selling for under msrp?

Is this dealership reputable? They seem to sell lots of new benzes on ebay for less than msrp and have 59/100% positive feedback.

Why wouldn't you buy online like this?

or I would never pay that price for a CLK. Rather spend a lil more and get a SL55

For 90k+ I'd take a E63 instead or as DemonaL said, get an 05 SL55 or SL600

I agree with the above posts, and if it was up to me I would also go for an R230 SL AMG or V12 over the new CLK, but I believe this car exists for individuals wanting a convertible with back seats, something in between an E (4 seats) and an SL (roadster).

Price seemed really high, don't think they are going to sell many, too close in price to cars with much higher image.

As far as buying a car on ebay, I'd only consider a new one from a dealer. So why not by a new car from a dealer on ebay? All of Dyer's cars are new and sell for 5-10k under sticker.

I think they are expecting some sort of hype with the car. I remember when S2000 came out someone in palo alto paid ~$60K for a car worth less than 30K.

No more quad exhaust tips??? Why? That's so cheap...only a dual exhaust tip.

So you know the place? Would you have any problem buying a new car there or is it one of those places like on King of Cars? Their prices seem pretty good.

I agree on the dealer plaque, I always remove any plaques, stickers, license plate frames etc immediately after getting the car home. They aren't paying me for the space, so I'm not advertising.

Never bought a car from them, but they are nearby. Overall the people there seem polite and courteous. I don't think I would go as far as saying that I wouldn't buy from them. I believe they are the main MB dealer in Columbia, SC.

............my thoughts exactly. I thought it would come with quad exhausts. What is funny is that MB will sell a CLK550 with the same body kit and dual exhaust. Anyway, nice bump in HP. I think the car that has benefited from this 6.3L AMg engine is the CLK. The AMG version gets a 100HP increase compared to CLK55. When it is all said and done, the E63 and especially the CL63 and S63 will go down as very bad ideas by MB. The CLK63 on the other hand will triumph. This is why they should have brought the coupe to the US. People were not buying as much of the CLK55 coupe because it was playing second fidle to the other AMG cars as far as HP is concerned. Now the CLK63 is a serious sports coupe and they decide not to bring the coupe. MB marketting just don't understand their customers very well.

Interestingly enough, I some of my clients are pro athletes and prefer the clk convertible to the sl for space.

That being said, it is shameless that it loses the quad exhaust... I would have considered this in a coupe (not a convertible guy) but don't see the attraction. (aside from the obvious ballz- sry no p.c.)

Any guesses on the replacement for the W209? I am hoping it grows a bit even if it borrows the styling of the new CL- if it stays the same size it could look very ricey...

I think the point everyone is missing is that the Cab never had dual exhaust...ever. We are not losing anything....they just never added it.
