We dont get the coupe because, as a point of reference Porsche sells 6 cabs to every 4 coupes. So does Mercedes.
Black Series as I undestand it has some certification issues as yet. I do believe they are working to bring Black Series cars here.

Silver CLK becomes “Black Series” - Not CLK DTM Facelift
After doing so with the SLK 55 AMG just recently, engineers are now making the CLK 63 AMG even sportier: They are about to develop an exclusive, emphatically puristic special series, a car that sets new standards in handling dynamics – the CLK 63 AMG Black Series - and not the CLK Facelift as previously reported. With the AMG 6.2-litre V8 engine, which has been boosted to 530 bhp, the numerous lightweight components, 19-inch AMG forged wheels, AMG adjustable sports suspension and AMG high-performance composite brakes, the special CLK 63 AMG brings its sports car talents to bear even more convincingly – and cuts an impressive figure especially on racing circuits.

We will be getting the CLK Black in the summer of 07. MB is only bringing 300 units into the country. The car will be a two seater capable of 0-60 times in under 4 seconds.

I work for MB of WIlmington in Wilmington, DE. The coupe will only have 2 seats, 500 hp 6.3L, and a top speed of 186 mph. I will keep everyone posted as I receive more info.

Yesterday I attended a track event where Mercedes-Benz brought a GL450, Bluetec E, S550, E550 Sport, CL550, S65 AMG, CLS63 AMG, and a CLK63 AMG to Willow Springs Raceway (Southern California). I spent track time with the Bluetec E, E550, and the CLK63. A Mercedes-Benz rep named Larkin Hill told me no U.S. spec CLK63 coupes are scheduled at this time. She could be mistaken, but that’s what she said.
BTW, the CLK63 is a beast. The new Shelby GT500 and M6 are all supposed to put out 500 HP, but every other journalist who drove it agreed that the CLK63 pulled much harder than every other car at the track. I passed one journalist in an RS4 who later said either the RS4 doesn’t have 420HP, or the CLK has considerably more than 500.

Spoke to poduct manager for AMG yesterday. Although he couldn't confirm, he said have your deposits in to your dealer by March. He did say MBUSA passed on importing the SLK 55 black series, as it wasn't enough of a performance improvement to justify the price increase. My specific question on the CLK 63 black was whether this is something I should get in line at my dealer. Given my loyalty to the AMG brand, I wanted to know. He said, make sure your dealer knows your on the list.
