Try sending a message thru the website. I felt the EXACT same way as you did. I got an email this past Friday from Jamie saying it was shipped out with a FedEx tracking number attached. Scheduled delivery was for tomorrow but I got it today.

Like some of the others said just have a tad more patience, it'll get to you. I know how you feel though; you order something and want to get it three hours later

Looks like they (oempartsdirect) finally figured out what is going on. They just jacked the price of the key up $60. It's now $114.00. I hope everybody who checked out this thread ordered their keys early. I figured it wouldn't take long before they figured out something was going on. So, for everyone who got their keys......awesome. For those who didn't.....You snooze you lose.

Question On Mechanical Key Release
I received my key last night. Brings a big smile to my face. Unfortunately I immediately gave it the the tire shop so they could install my 19" rims and and new Eagle F1 Ds-D3 tires. Didn't even look at it more than 30 seconds (The rims and key came on the same day).

My question is, I inserted the mechanical key and then noticed that I need or needed to insert the very small plastic release button for the mechanical key. Can this still be done and if so- how? It didn't come with any instruction. Thanks in advance for anyone that knows.

I had to go in for a "Service B" today and when I handed the service guy the key he said "how did this happen"? I told him that I ordered it online and whatnot and he was sorta shocked. He said that a lot of people have been asking about the new key but their parts department couldn't order it. I told him that it would be done, he lost interest in the conversation...lol!

Yeah they did go up on the price but he is offering 25% off all products to mbworld members the checkout code is in the group buy forum I believe. I know its not much but at least its something and probably better than what the dealership will offer. (its much less of a hassle getting it from OEMparts than it is at the dealership if you dont have an 07 model, something to consider.)

Just FYI -- i entered these steps and they now charge $140 for the key. Not terrible if you really want it, and b/c it's still cheaper than from the dealership, but just FYI. Wonder why they bumped it up. probably cuz we were all buying it!!

I have a loaner C2804M right now and it has the chrome key. I found it to be really heavy and the buttons are not that convenient.

The price of the key is $114.80 I just checked 5 minutes ago. Better jump on it, before they raise the price again.

I'm talking about on Oem Parts Direct dot com. I'm the one who started this thread to begin with. Only go to the dealership if you want to waste extra money. Thanks for chiming in.

i think you're the one who needs to read. my original post stated that going to the dealership might be cheaper than oemparts and you replied "only go to the dealer if you want to waist money" of which I replied "i went to my dealer and paid less than the website your quoting..."

So now tell me, what part of the thread should I have read that I didn't read?
