yesterday, stuck in a little traffic on tully rd. san jose, my friend and i saw a old asian lady driving a black w211 badged e63, AMG.......we both did a double take, and saw the single tipped exhaust, incorrect rims, and it was sitting as high as a 4x4.....
either she got jacked at the dealer, or she's just ignorant....either way, it was a stupid sight to see.
camera phone couldn't zoom in time before the light turned green.

2001 CLK55 AMG
I've seen one in Southern MD recently that nearly brought me to tears from laughing. A black CLK320. Nice wheels, great looking paint. Good looking car minus the boy racer spoiler on the trunk, and yes, an AMG badge too. I pulled up behind him, and he saw me, and even waved out his window at me. First opportunity I had to pass I hit it a little aggressively, and shot by him. He actually followed me to a gas station nearby, and wanted to talk shop. I figured I would humor him, and kept it pleasant. But when we pulled out I let the car do the talking, and he didn't try to keep up this time lol.

Not sure about this one, but this dealer here claims this is 2003 E 400 CDI AMG. Never heard of this model, but could be wrong. I doubt AMG would do diesel. Here is the killer on this one...they want $37K for 2003 with 94,000km on it! http://autobazar.automix.centrum.cz/...86011048245688

a mechanic that worked on my car for the header install has a modded w220 s600 (the biturbo).........
..........and has a bmw M badge on the trunk. He debadged the s600 and slapped on the M so people think he's a ricer. Best idea ever.

I personally wouldn't have done it...i don't even know if i'm going to put my kleemann badges on when I get them because I don't have the supercharger upgrade, just the headers/ecu...but thats me.
But I think it would be kind of hilarious to see some guys think they're racing a ricer s500 only to get smoked by the s600

Mercedes themselves have to share some of the blame - they simply should not be allowed to sell the "AMG Package" for a regular car, but they do! At least they don't stick the AMG badge on the back (you'd have to pick that up from eBay!).

I agree the AMG package is retarded. I wish MB never did that! But it still doesn't make slapping a badge on the trunk right. You still have to blame the driver!

It has the right brake calipers and wheels.
The front bodystyling is correct too.
Couldn't see enough of the driver controls.
But from the oic, it looks in order.
I reckon the previous owner had the 6.3 AMG badge put on the boot lid.
Seems like a strange thing to do though. Considering it says CLK63 on the other side.

It's the real thing - you can see the AMG badging on the seats (which is something that would be very expensive to fake). Somebody has just ripped off the original badge and put something more ostentatious on it!

I was in Ft. Lauderdale last Sunday afternoon around Las Olas Blvd. at brunch time. There were plenty of great cars cruising in the sunshine, a great sight to see (real AMG's were well represented).
There were also too many AMG Posers out there. It was a hoot to see what some folks will do to mimic the real thing.

So I'm new to the forum and Merecedes in general (still in my G35 Coupe until I can upgrade lol)...but I was searching and came across this forum thread. A friend of mine's brother this weekend drove up in convertible Mercedes with the 6.3 AMG badging on the side and back. It was definetely a nice car and all but I couldn't help but notice it didn't have dual exhaust - just the dual tips on the left side. It made me wonder, because I always thought the AMGs had dual exhausts if it was just a badged car or what. Any input?
Edit: I was search around more I see it probably wasn't a fake AMG...my mistake. lol

this sounds like a CLK 6.3 which has only two pipes to the left if I am not mistaken. So most likely it was a real AMG. Most AMGs have four pipes, but in the CLK case this is not the case.
