Besides the fact that its not a real AMG.......why would anyone in their right mind want to do that? Boredom? I mean, good for you you can swap an engine. People do that with Chevy and Fords all the time. But it seems silly on a Benz.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
If you want an AMG so bad then just go out and buy one. There are plenty to be had at decent prices.

What was wrong with the original engine in the CL500 anyways?

I really enjoy arguing with you guys, I really do. But I honestly think its about time I threw in the towel. I've proved everybody wrong that I set out to do so, and used logical evidence to back my claims up. The last few pages I've not only made my points, but reiterated them multiple times as it seems it takes the average amg owner 3 or 4 tellings before they can admit they were wrong and get something through their head. I'll check back in a few weeks to make sure you guys don't miss me too much!!

Props to you for swapping the engine out but surely your not trying to tell us the only difference between a non-amg and an amg is the engine.

1. Did you swap out the stock brakes for a set of AMG's?
2. Did you swap out the coil overs for a set of AMG's?
3. Did you swap out the front and rear sway bars?

There are other things but as you can see, it is not just changing out an engine.

There is this kid i've seen a few time driving around in a W220 S430 which he has rebadged as an S55 AMG, he has those cheap clip-on quad exhaust tips, like 17x6" wheels and more chrome than a hip-hop auto show

Not only is he posing with his fake AMG but he also has a license plate that says "BHNINJA" but he doesn't live in Beverly Hills, i've seen his car parked in a driveway near Little Ethiopia

I agree on the part of not needing to be wreckless and prove your car is better, talking about being a poser with any car. I've raced a few times when not in traffic and mainly with other Mercedes but just for fun. When these fellow young people try to prove their cars to me I just think to myself that there isn't much of a point, I'm in a Benz (AMG or Not) and I shouldn't need to risk everything to prove my car's worth. It's a Mercedes. One time I had a dude in a new base and stock Toyota Matrix hatchback try to race me in rush hour traffic. When I didn't race him and pulled calmly up to the next light he actually rolled down his window to tell me how slow my car was... ??? However I hate people that do the ricer flyby after they try keeping up, it's one of the major no-no's of proper street competition etiquette, and a flyby is a sort of disrespectful. Not to say I haven't done flybys before but it's not something I'm proud of xD

Do you have to own an AMG to post in here? For the longest time, I thought I was contributing to our rich forum by posting in here, sharing a few laughs, and calling out the occasional poser, even if I don't own an AMG. But according to you, I'm not supposed to be in here.
