I figured I would let you all in on what else I've been working on..
When I started to develop the headers, I also thought, why couldn't we have a full exhaust as well... I wanted it to be a complete bolt-on system just like the headers. That way it would keep all the same factory pick-up points, and I also wanted to keep the primary cats in the stock location. Well I got one out of two!
I used 200 cell metal matrix cats, but they would not fit in the primary locations. So the O2 sensors will need to be extended.

Excellent bro! Just this part alone will wake up the car including upgrading the cat-back section. You need to post this in the C43 forum as well.

Nice work ghost. Im glad you ditched the primaries as I think the location is terrible. As Carl said, this mod alone should account for a good performance increase. Are these 100% custom or did you modify the existing Dpipes? The bends look identical. Everytime I see a shorty design I feel that the down pipes is where they missed out. The main reason I've only considered kleemann's.

The jig was made off of the factory system and these are 100% Custom...Originally Posted by NitrogenBalance

I wanted to give people options... So you could get just the Shorties or go all out from front to back.

So, I was talking to the tech as he was working on my car, things were going a little slow and he was keeping me updated on the install. Around lunchtime he was like come up and take a look so you can see what I'm talking about. After lunch I head up to the dealership and by the time I get there, he's done!!
The car is so sweet now. Nice power, great sound, I love it!!! Needless to say there is a need for a tune to take full advantage of everything. My tech snapped some pics...

Very nice custom work.
It's amazing how much work we modders will put into a part that will likely never be seen by anyone. We know it's there....

you guys probably haven't heard of this, but, for the sn95 mustangs there is a midpipe called a Prochamber. If you get the off-road version (catless), it's basically straight pipes w/ a little chambered "muffler" right around the middle of the car. It is definitely one of the best sounds ever on a V8. I know it would sound sick as hell on the 4.3 motors (I had the 4.6 DOHC Mach 1), and it would likely sound even better on the 5.5's. If I ever end up w/ a 55, I may have to buy a prochamber and find someone to make just the chambered part fit the Mercedes.

The market may not be the same for AMG as the Mustang crowd, but there would be people buying offroad pipes for their AMG's as long as they could use MIL eliminators or turn the code off w/ a tune or something.

Stock was 236 rwhp/ 236 rwtq, which makes it +29 rwhp/ +22 rwtq. I posted the wrong torque figure, the car actually 258 rwtq!!! Originally Posted by Chappy
