CLK55 OR C32

CLK55 OR C32
Should I buy a C32 or CLK55? I have been looking at 2 cars, both have no warranty.
2004 C32 w/ 50k miles from Mercedes dealer.
2003 CLK55 w/50k miles from a used car dealer.
There is only a minor price difference between the C32 and the CLK55. It is a hard choice because I like both cars. Will the repair cost be alot higher on the CLK55?

depends on what you want. the 55 will only seat four passengers and it is a two door coupe. the C32 will seat five and it is a sedan. if i am not mistaken they both have the 5.4 liter V-8 cranking out 370hp. i would be willing to bet that the C32 is a little bit more nimble. the 55 is a great car but you can definitely feel the weight coming around corners.
you can purchase an aftermarket warranty from your local dealer for either car so the warranty situation should not be an issue. i love my 55. the car has nice lines, is comfortable, tons of power, and looks the part since it has been lowered and i added some tasteful 19's. if you plan on modifying the car i would check the aftermarket prior to making a decision as well.

The one you're thinking of is the C55 that came out in 2005. Its based on the same 55 AMG engine that's in the CLK55.
As to the original poster, both are nice cars and are worth owning. The CLK would be my choice since I prefer coupes/convertibles over sedans. I also like the interior on the CLK slightly better than the C class.

I think the CLK is a step above the C32 honestly. Plus, if u want more performance, there's a lot more room with the NA V8 than the already supercharged/intercooled C. If not, u never have to worry about rebuilding a supercharger.

thanks for the correction. i was thinking C55. do some research on supercharged sixes by MB. there are plenty of horror stories.

My preference is for the CLK55. I haven't driven the C32, but my prejudice is based on the vast number of C-Classes running around town. There are quite a few W209s, too, but not nearly as many.
Have you looked at any M3's or S4's?

I know you indicated a 2003 CLK but I will chime in for the lines on the 2001-2002 CLK55 AMG, which in IMHO are classic. If you want a pure sports car look (aggresive) that you don't see often on the road then the CLK is a good choice. If you want a sporty four door with easy access then the C is great. However, not even my BMW 740i seats 5 very comfortably for a longer drive so I would consider both cars really seat 4 adults. Good luck with your choice.

Aside from the new C class. Last 2 models before were kinda soft looking not exciting. Sound of a ballsy V8 you cannot look away from.
