Kompressor V8 Swap in 03CLK55 (W209)
Is this a simple plug and play? what is involved and how much $ are we talking? Also is this a better method than anything from Kleemann or other aftermarket S/C packages. newbie here just researching thanks

Check over in the C43 section, someone is swapping a 55K engine into a 43.

There is a poster named Kanzus over on the Crossfire board
http://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/...-diary-26.html
Who swapped a 55K engine into his V6 Crossfire. He might be able to give you an idea of the work involved. The thread over there deals with another owners NA V8 swap but Kanzus posts several times in that thread about his 55K swap.

Firstly, my original post was a joke. Relax.
Secondly, your presumption would be incorrect. Though at first glance it may look like the PRO141-FD, it's actually the Pioneer Elite Kuro 110-FD. It's ok though, a lot of people get the Kuro (Elite) series from Pioneer confused.

I am surprised that more CLK55 owners have not considered doing this swap. The only factory CLK55K was the infamous CLK DTM as you all know. why AMG didn't do a detuned DTM as a regular production CLK55K with the same output as the E55K is beyond me...

To do the whole engine swap is going to be hard. Most likely you will need the whole wiring harness and ECU from a 55k. Not to mention the w209 trans will not be able to handle the power of a 55k once you start throwing power adders to the motor.
With 480whp and 580wtq (common 55k power numbers after a few mods) the trans in my C55 is at its limit.
In all honesty its not that hard of a mod to do. It's just going to cost a bunch of money and take a good shop to do it.
Its a road I will go down very soon.

cool, thanks for the tips, For now I think I will stay with what ever stock power the 55K motor gets as with all things it costs $$$$$ to make serious mods. Do you think the W209 Trans could handle the 55K motor if left as is?
Thanks
Thanks

cool thanks blackbenzz and AMGSC for the info!
A friend of mine also told me another option is to buy the OEM SC and bolt it on to the existing NA motor. Is that recommended?
