tire question

If you have old tires, Or bad shocks (and also the front ones and back ones are different brands) will it degrade your ride quality greatly? Because at this point I have changed Lower control arm bushings, drag link assembly, motor mounts, and ball joints...And I can still feel every crack on the road...I'm just out of ideas and don't know how I can fix my car( I've had 2 different mechanics tell me that my suspension is perfect)
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yup and yup. Worn tires and shocks will "degrade ride quality". That being said the CLK55 does have rather stiff suspension stock, my wife says my CLK55 rides like her Mini ;-)

What is your wheel/tire setup?

Has the car ever been wrecked?

I had old tires on my W210, i suspected the shocks. MB said shocks were fine. I got new tires and she rides like a dream again.

As others have said, old tires will degrade the ride. The way you wrote your post, it appears that you have different brands of shocks, front and rear. If that's the case, unless they are the stiffest shocks known to man, it won’t matter. However, if you’re stating you have different tire brands, that is going to make a very big difference. Especially if they’re worn. TRIPLE especially true if one pair of tires is known for tramlining (cough cough Yokohama cough). When you write "feeling every crack in the road", do you mean you feel it in the steering wheel (tramlining), or through your seat (rough riding)? Also, what tire brand(s) are you running?

The MB-spec Michelin PS2s are the best tires I've ever had on my CLK55.

thanks for the responses....I had bought a set of used blistein hd's from my friend and had been using those...But i'm having the mechanic put my old ones back on( I think they have about 35-40k on them) as for the tires, they have been replaced with falken tires all around, but unfortunately the mechanic put the wrong size tires on ( It said 215-45-17 on the door for the gas, So he put those all around on staggered wheels) I had him order new tires for the back, I'm going to leave the front with the 215's and change the back to 245's...is that okay?
and finally, I feel it through the seat, not just the steering wheel...
Again thanks for the help.
