THE blower thread
Has anyone heard/seen an E500 KLEEMANN (aka E50 K) on the road or in the forums other than my vehicle?
Plz let me know if you have. I'm starting to wonder how many are actually in the US.
Kevin- I wonder if that vis diffuser could be modified to integrate a heat exchanger and pump like the bs.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Once I got past the super-low-resale issues on my car..... I started modding without a care. I'm just having fun with it. Who cares if this car is barely worth a used camry

We'll see.
I called today on an update.... and they said car was all apart.... so at least another 10 days.... I told them to take their time... no rush... I'd rather do it right, than speedy.
My next ride might be a used e55 wagon....... we'll see how much I like my clk after she's all done......but you just can't ignore the super low prices of the used e55's.... and how easy it is to get them to 11's...... jeez...... if I were to do it all over again...... I would have started with a blown factory car.
..... I digress.

I can't remember if I've ever asked you or not, but has your car been to the drag strip?
91rs - You have to ignore the fact that these old clk's are 15K cars when you dump 2-4times that into them. But for me my little car hobby is not a financial proposition....it's a passion driven exercise.
Can't wait to get her out of paint, then my little dtm st wheel..... then enjoy.. before round 3 suspension mods/brakes........ then next year true dual ex and lt's....... then a sound system somewhere along the lines.
I have not been to the track. I'm thinking high 11's, or mid 11's with sticky tires..... but I really don't know. With all the paint and cf bits.... this is turning more into a fun weekend toy rather than an all drag car..... although I cam lurking in BBenz's threads where he talks of custom built bottom end with sleeves, and the mighty weistec blower........ we'll see..... part of me wants to p/u a used 55 engine..... and build it up in the back of my shop with the weistec for "when" my motor craps out...... I find over the years if you have a better motor "on deck" the old factory motor will last for ever.... call me superstitious

We are pretty much pioneers when it comes to modifying Mercedes cars, not many people mod Mercedes compared to other cars. Even aftermarket support is slim compared to other brands. So you need to figure out what you want to accomplish and what you are willling to spend to accomplish that task. Of course you can mod a chevy for cheap to attain your goals, but that's because a lot more people have done it before you and there is more support for the vehicle.
In order to get the results you want, you're definitely going to need to think out of the box and spend a bit of money. If you're capable off following instructions and you can do the work yourself, you might be able to accomplish what you want cheaper than what you thought you could.
I have a C55 and I really would love to throw a w211 E55 engine in the car, but the best way to do that would be to buy a wrecked E55 and transfer everything over to the C55. I'm sure it's easier said than done, but that's probably the cheapest way of modding the C55 into a fast car. I'm guessing around 12k more or less for the car and then sell what ever you can. Should come out to around to 8k without labor. Buying a wrecjed E55 might be a long shot, but it's the cheapest way of probably gettting into the 11's. Plus I would rather mod my cars, then sell them for next to nothing.
