C63 507 AMG DA Car #19
I'm guessing from pics that the rod end at the piston side failed due to the 7XXHP++++.
Next motor could use same block, but better conn rods.
Other possible causes ruled out due to AMG:
Oiling - good
Oil level - assumed good
Oil quality - assumed good
Over revving - ????
Poor quality parts - assumed good AMG
Conn rod bolts loose - assumed good.
Either combo of high rpm + high boost.... bye bye stock conn rod.
Some interweb rod throwing info......

Over revving - No. I don't turn the motor above 6500rpm even with the E55 heads.
Poor quality parts - good AMG
Conn rod bolts loose - good. The rod is still boltedtogether around the crank.
Was running about 11psi of boost

Ok guys I just bought a 40k mile E55 engine to go in the Clk. I already sold alot of my mods but still have some to go on this one
Yes there are companies that will make custom rods but they are expensive

I picked the motor up today but unfortunately it wasn't in the condition I was expecting. I am going to take it back tomorrow to get my money back. I'm on the hunt for a clean short block to build. If Darton finishes the sleeves before I find a clean block for sale I will get my E55 block sleeved and put forged pistons in

damn sorry to hear that, you put in the new motor so I thought you would be back at it for sure. Your car has achieved so much and that kill against the black was epic. I wanted to see some more kill stories in the future.
