E55 Supercharger on a W208 CLK55?
I am looking at a Kompressor unit off an E55, and wondering if there will be any issues fitting it on my CLK55. The sale is for just the supercharger, so I understand I will need a pulley, new belt, and probably a different idler, but is there anything else required for the install? I've seen a lot of threads about Kleeman and other superchargers, but not for an E55 swap. I hope that doesn't mean it's not possible...

Oops
Maybe I didn't look hard enough:

So it looks like it would fit, but I would need stronger rods and lower compression to make it work. I'm guessing maybe a beefier fuel pump and injectors as well? I'll be getting an OBD-II Scanner soon so I can monitor injector duty cycle to be sure.

The E55K motor uses a MAP Sensor to tune the AFR....... your CLK uses a Mass Air Meter to tune AFR.
You can pulley down the boost of the E55K kompressor to 6-8psi to work with your stock pistons.
You can probably duplicate the kleemann s/c kit fuel system mods to make it work.... but then by that time you may be better off with the used $4500 klee s/c kit for sale on here.
Kleemann fuel system includes:
1. Fuel pressure mgt unit (raises fuel pressure with boost).
2. Fuel pump Dc-Dc inverter.... raises fuel pump voltage with boost)
3. Mass Air Meter voltage clamp..... resistor box that goes in line with the MASS AIR METER signal wireing.... so as to not peg the meter with the add'l air flow.
You will also need the i/c unit and piping and water pump.

Oh yea, the intercooler; I guess I forgot about that . I'm thinking this is more piecing together than I'd like to do at the moment, so I'll probably hold off until I can afford a complete kit.
Thanks for the helpful info, at least now I have a complete list, and better understanding.

I think there is someone in the classify section selling the Kleemann SC with the whole kit for $4K that you don't need anything else.

Already come with Intercooler, pump, E55 airbox ..... everything you need to Supercharge your car. The price is also reasonable. I had a quoted before for almost $11K 3 years ago.

Wow, thats a really good deal for a great setup. The blower I was looking at is going for $1k, so $4k is a bit more than I'm looking to spend right now, although it is tempting...

Blower for $1K ?? You will need a lot more parts to make it happen. Like Intercooler, air box, IC pump ...... $1K is very little budget for the conversion.

this setup is not for the faint heart by no means i am running it,
you need a full e55 supercharger (supercharger+plenums+throttle+intercooler+injecto rs), all the pulleys and cranck pulley (it will run 0.8 bar stock, very dangerous but custom 0.5 bar pulley, i am running 0.8 till now all is ok), all the extra brackets for the pulleys, you need an e55 timing chain cover (or cut the EGR pump holder like i did mine) + engine water pump + thermostat housing also Heat exchanger, and HE water pump.
you will also need a bigger maf housing, clk320 airbox (gutted), various silicon bends, & Fuel pressure Regulator,
to top all that you will need also a full data logging setup (the obdii ones are very slow btw) + a custom dyno tune ...
my car took me 1 year of research, and 2 weeks for installation, a a couple of months to make it drivable (mail tune)...

Yeah man, lookin' good. I like the black Monoblocks. Thanks for explaining what's involved. Half the battle is knowing what to do and how to do it. I think I'm getting there. As for the other half, $$$, we'll see.

Do you have any more specifics on what you needed did you need alternator pulley idler pulley water pump pulley etc? If I bolt on the supercharger and e55 crank pulley will the belt go straight down to the crank pulley or does it get interrupted? Who did you use for the tune Eurocharged?

Does anyone know the value of the Kleemann resistor that comes with the kit. It looks like my kit is missing the resistor. I am requesting for Cory to send me one but meanwhile I will try to find a resistor of the same resistance as the one used.
Would anyone know?

i recall they use a 500 ohm one.

It was a 1000 ohm adjustable resistor. Any electronic store should have it. But yes they stopped using them with their newer kits
