I'm getting 18/24.

There must be something wrong with your car. You can't have that big a lead foot!

I usually have a tank average of 19.8 mpg when I hit reset after a fill-up. I mostly drive in the city.

I did one road trip from Dallas to Oklahoma City to help a friend move. On the way up I got 27.9 mpg following a big U-Haul at ~65 (with one...well, '"spirited" sprint to verify my speed limiter isn't there *smile*). On the way home I was down to ~22.5 mpg.....a little heavier on the pedal I guess.

No longer car shopping...
~22 Hwy & ~17 City (Driven HARD)

For there to be such a large difference there MUST be something wrong with yours. Did you mess with the chip settings? I've heard of others who have expereinced 12-14 City after the changing the settings on the chip at the Benz dealer. Usually it's only 3-5 mpg difference. If your TRUELY only getting 10mpg, then either you own a S55 that's had the chip tampered with or you've got a problem...

I figure I'm averaging around 19-20mpg. but I've seen it as low as 17mpg......for some reason I'm not as hard on the pedal with this car as I was with my lease....must be the whole idea that I"m keeping it and I want it to last a long time!!!

Cool CLK 55 MPG

Just filled my New CLK 55 up for the first time. 18.65 MPG. All city driving. I have been taken in easy until 1000 miles. Love the car. My second AMG. My first was a C32.

Wow, there must be something seriously wrong with your car. I get better gas mileage than you in my G500!
