I'm assuming the car will get 18in wheels, especially since the C55 will have them.

there is no reason for there to be new brakes. The C55 has the motor and trans and it uses teh same brakes as the C32 (2002-2004) and the W209 CLK55. Same old 13.6 inchers will be around for 05 production as well. But the SLK55's 6 pot/4 pot brakes will be a direct bolt on for the C55 and the CLK55! So upgrade away!

There was a detailed thread on this in the 209 section.

Some other changes:

Re-designed center stack with blue lighting

DVD based NAV

Sport steering wheel

The amg rims on the 500 get a restyle and grow to 18's so maybe the 55's will get a new design too?

The 500's also get shift buttons on the back of the new sport wheel, the 7G and dual exhaust outlets.

A face lift for all 209's is due in MY 2006.

There will be no kompressor.

Will The CLK 55's keep the 5 speed like the E-55's?

Thanks RJC,

The changes are a particular concern to me because I wasn't happy with the 320 and traded it in for a 500, paid the difference plus about 1500 canadian dollars for the depreciation, i drove it for almost 1300KM....dealer was very understanding and said ok...he comes back and tells me, sorry sir, no more 2004's available..your 500 will arrive in July, August at the latest...

Honestly, I think the STi is more entertaining to drive. Which shouldn't be surprising, its provides more of a raw driving experience. The STi feels more responsive than the M3 does, probably a tad faster as well. In the end though I think it would come down to the driver if the 2 cars were at a standoff.

I actually traded an Evo for the STi.

Lastly for changes to the 05, it would be nice if Benz actually covered the door pulls in leather. I can understand the plastic center console, but plastic door pulls is just plain wrong in an $75-$85k car.

Get the F* with it MB.

Where did the spare tire go? I can't believe I'm going to have to trade in my 2003 to get the quad exhaust. That sucks, but I want it real bad!!!!!

AMG BRED,

Thanks for the pic of my interior! I know that was not what you were trying to convey, but it served two purposes!!! I think I am going to be very happy with that interior.

So no dual exhaust and no 18 inch wheels.

Looks like only thing new is interior.
Is this correct?
