Pics of my new hood badge!!

I finally got the "AMG" flat hood badge installed on my car, along with a "Special Edition" plate that I got off eBay! I thought it looked cool and is a nice touch to the interior. BTW, anybody have any suggestions on good quality aftermarket bulbs for the inner parking lights that will be "white" instead of "yellow"?

For bulbs, you have tones of options, but I think Sylvania and PIAA are the best.

For your reference, at least I know of the following:
PIAA Plantinum White
Sylvania SilverStar
Polarg
Raybrig
Nokya

PIAA Platinum Super White 19169 is the closest match to the bi-xenons.

i like the badge, however i think you could have found a better place to stick that "special edition" plate then on the glove box.

I agree that the glovebox was not my first option, but was the only place that I could find that was flat enough for it to stick properly. I tried to put it right underneath the cuphold (what a joke), but that space has too much contour for the plate to lay flat. The only other place that I though about was on the door, right by the lock pin. It is flat enough, but I would have had to buy another to put on the other door to make it look right.

I tried to find that part number on PIAA's website, but was not there. Also, I am not talking about the fog lights on bottom, but the lights that are directly inside the Bi-Xenon projector.

Mark,

This is the one that Harris is talking about:
http://www.piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulbs-Miniature.html
It's the second one from the top. It's a very small bulb in the high beam flahser housing. You can also change the high beam bulb to those in H7 to match your Xenon

on the ashtray cover would be a perfect spot, under the climate control, in line with the shifter, you can more double sided tape to the back of the "special edition" plate to contour it.

I am going to have to agree here. That dash plaque is not that great looking and it is fake in every way. If it were real it would be much better quality and would be numbered with a real signiture on the front.

That hood badge is nice but again its not real. This is one thing I might buy but its not worth the 150 bucks they pull on ebay (for the quality brass version... the other low rent version is very cheap).

If you buy to many fake things off ebay its going to be a tacky ride. But hey I love that White CLK55! I think AMG's look great in white so great pick on your color. Do you have any pics of the car? I would love to see some pics of the new brakes for the 2005 CLK55. Thanks alot!

Ok, Ok!! I get the point that the plate badge is not working in its current spot! I will work on relocating it, but the AMG hood badge is, IMO, a very nice touch, real or not!! I only paid $85 and it was not from eBay, only the SE plate was from there. As for other pics of my car & the brakes, I have included a link that has several of the interior and exterior.

whoa...$85? I thought even the real AMG badge was around only $50 and the good quality ones from eBay are like $30-40.

btw Mark, how about relocating the plate badge to my car??

i thought i read somewhere on this board and i think scorchie confirmed that there is such thing as an AMG hood badge, not from MB or directly from AMG.

I bought these for my car as well. They are really nice.
Only crappy thing is the fog lights now look too yellow with these new park lights installed. Looks like too much work to replace the fog lights. The parking lights were cake to replace.

MarcusBenz,

I think I've just purchased the same AMG Hood Badge as you. Could you please tell me how you installed it? Thanks!

Also, someone said that you needed matching Fog Lamps... Here's a link if you're interested:

For you City lights (inside of Xenons) the PIAA Xtreme White 19172 is a bit brighter than the 19169 wedge bulbs. PIAA also make Xtreme white H3's or H1's so eveything will match up.
