Question about pricing my CLK55

I am considering selling my CLK55. It is a 2001 blk/blk with less than 8500 miles. I have a lorinser roof spoiler, color matched side markers, 19" Maya STM's (only 800 miles), H&R springs, illuminated //AMG sills, titanium tint, etc.

Can anyone tell me where I should try and list it aside from local papers and roughly what I should expect to sell it for vs trade in? I know KBB.com but it isn't always what they are willing to give... Thanks alot for any help!

If I were selling, I would contact several folks who have posted on MBWorld and asked them what they sold theirs for.

I would also not expect to get any $$ for the mods completed.

Good luck!

Thanks alot for the input. I hate to sound ignorant but how can I find out who has sold what and when? Is there a spot on the site that lists/tracks this?

I knew when I added the options that they wouldn't necessarily add value unless the buyer valued the options. I have always added accessories to my vehicles and have rarely seen much of a return. (aside from a range rover I sold- right buyer!)

Thanks again! It is my garage queen but we have sold our home and are in the process of building. The condo we are renting only has two spots so I need to free one up...

Use the search function. I typed in CLK55 for sale and it brought up 48 hits. Good luck!

If you don't mind me asking why are you selling it? What are you getting? 208's have a very nice tuning potential.

I don't mind at all. My plan was to keep this vehicle and continue to modify it... I was planning on adding a full lorinser kit, techtite grey paint, orange/brown full leather interior, suede quilted headliner, bigger brakes, cold air intake, etc... The list goes on and on. I wanted to get the rest done all at once and as I did the numbers I reaized it would make more sense to upgrade to the cl55. (my personal favorite b/c of size) The reason for the sense of now rather than later is that I have moved and only have two spots to park in that are covered. I figured this would be a good time to sell mine (it is mint and only has 8500 miles) and once our new home is completed (18 months) fill the extra stable. What are your thoughts?

I guess it's just a matter of personal choice. I myself love the CL55 (assuming you're getting the s/c version correct?) but it's just too heavy for my taste. You can get a full kleemann kit for your 208 55 and come out with about 600hp+ more or less and it would still be quicker than the CL55. Just my 2 cents.

I am def. heading for the s/c- maybe even the 6+ ltre version if demand has subsided a bit by then. It is heavy but I have to admit that room has alot to do with it. Most of my friends are pretty large individuals and I am not exactly small.

My backseat is unusable with me driving. It would be amazing to have the clk55 as you described but I guess I am trying to make a "practical" decision as ridiculous as it may sound. If I put another $50-60k into this vehicle- I would adore it. But what would the next itch be? I guess what I am trying to say is that the CL will hold its value longer/warrantee/etc. GOD I SOUND LIKE AND ACO****ANT!!!! Someone save me...

lol Like what i said it's just a matter of personal taste. Both cars are magnificent. But if you need more room then definitely go with the CL. From a numbers point of view the CL will ofcourse cost you more $$$$.

I had a friend posts shots on here before... Do you know if it is possible to see posts that are a couple months back? It is as new but I wasn't thinking I would get as much as 45k. At 42.5 I would sell it. I have the shots of my vehicle on my cmputer at home. I will try and repost- it does look incredible. I get alot of nice feedback. Thanks btw.

It is Magma Red with Charcoal Nappa Leather. 18" Mille Miglia modular wheels. Timeport, teleaid, cd changer, xenon lights. No sunroof Not sure what is exactly standard on these so excuse me if I have just listed standard features. I am getting a command system retrofitted from "steve" on this board. I do love the car I have owned a 911 as well as a 3 series and would not go back to either one of those. SO far I love this car.

That sounds fantastic. Congrats again! I am also an old 911 owner and just can't get enough of benz... I listed my 55 on ebay a few moments ago if you would like to see some photos. Not sure if it is up yet but check it out a little later. I am very proud of my little bull!!

These normally came standard. I wonder if the original owner specified that as a 'delete' option......

BTW, nice ride

That is exactly what the owner did. He was pretty tall and thought that would give him some extra headroom.
