Audio Aux socket / cable

I just had steve@MBenzNL.COM (actually his partner - scorchie?) install the ice>Link: Plus in my car this last weekend.
The good: Steve convinced me that I shouldn't install the ProClip mount (oh well, there went $58 down the drain
) because it would dent my leather console. His partner instead installed it in the bottom compartment of the center armrest, using the Dension cradle. It looks really slick. They did a great job on the installation (for some reason they elected to install the ice>Link: Plus units under the shifter and behind the dash rather than in the trunk replacing the 6-disc CD changer). Great job on my COMAND 2.0 install too! Highly recommended The bad: While the iPod "works" - it plays, it charges - things aren't all quite right yet. You are supposed to be able to choose ice>Link Setup mode by going to CD disc 6 and pressing >> but that's not working for me. I can choose CD 1 through CD 5 and it "takes" (the iPod starts playing), but I can't get it to "take" the choice of CD 6 - it goes back to whatever I had selected last. Luckily for me Dension USA is down in Long Beach so I may have to drive The Beast down there to see if they can get that sorted ...

On the main Dension site it says
Read the song title and artist information right from your radio. The same information is also displayed on the iPod, so if your radio doesn't support text display, you can always look at the iPod.
As for your question about the fibre optic link - it seems like most model year 2003 to present cars use the MOST fibre optic system; you should check and see whether you need to cancel your order for the ice>Link: Plus because your boss' car is MOST-based, not D2B. You really need to find out whether it has D2B or MOST. One thing that is confusing is that there is a Dension page saying the 2003 CLKs are supported by their D2B product (Edit: see the link at the very end of this post; it says The Mercedes Benz variant of ice>Link: Plus supports the popular Audio 10, Audio 30 and COMAND 2.0 and 2.5 head units found in [...] * 2003-2004 CLK-Class (W209) - Ed.) Unless you were pre-ordering their (currently vapourware) product for the MOST link:

You'll notice it says This kit is not yet available, expected release is Q2/2005.
