First official pic of CLK63 Black Series...
I WOULD GET A GALLARDO for that price.
130k+ serously? OVERPRICED by about 30-45 Thousand.
For that kind of money your talking (or at least i am) power to weight ratios in the 6lbs per hp area.
Like:
FORD GT
GALLARDO
C6 Z06 Vette (only 70k)
05 CL 65
Porsche 911 tt or GT3
VIPER or new 600hp viper.
As far as for track use, yea it's better than most Mercedes, but then again that not saying much, since mercedes even some AMG's SUCK for the track. Weither it be 1/4 mile or a circuit.
Their center of gravity is too high, weight to much, not enough rubber to the ground. No manual offered (probally since Mercedes know that people who have money and want a fast car buy Porsche or BMW) Seats aren't made for harnesses, like the DTM is.
Yeah, so it has 265 Front and 285 rear, Granted that is an improvement, but for a 500+ horsepower car, that is OVERWEIGHT, not big enough. needs atleast 305 or larger in the rear.
However, I am glad to see that they are improving the suspension with coilovers that are adjustable, and that they are puting in a LSD.
This all coming from a Mercedes Driver.

is that official that it is 130k???
that sucks
a 911TT will run circles around it for that price and has the back seat thing which I need and should probably shut up about!

But for sheer performance, a track car, and for someone who knows what a decreasing radius turn is and is willing to pay 130k+ Get a
FORD GT
VIPER
C6 Z06
PORSCHE
I've been reading up on the 997 911 RS, that thing is gonna be a BEAST.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
And you all didnt hear it from me but it seems 300 of them will be built, $137k sticker
Its exclusive and that's what people are buying it for. I doubt we'll see any on a track. So far, Porsche has delivered 58 and rumor is when the factory shuts down for the model year change, that will be it for the GT3RS.

You crack me up. Go drive both cars, then talk.

GT3RS are sweet. No amtter what anyone says IMO
Single-mass flywheel
Close ratio 6 speed gearbox
Standard Ceramic brakes
Adjustable Carbon Rear Wing
20 kg lighter than the standard GT3
In the hands of a serious driver, the GT3RS will be quicker around any track any time.
All this for what, 25K more than a standard GT3?
Why you hating? Stickers........
Gear Ratio is the same as in the GT3.
Single Mass flywheel. Yes.
Adjustable wing. Yes. But its outrageously large. In fact, if it wasn't on a Porsche, people would make fun of it as being ricer.
So you get to chose from bright colors (orange and green) and limit its production and Porsche get's to charge you $20K more.
I'll add that the GT3 itself is an awesome machine. I just don't see that big a difference in performance btw the GT3 and RS. Just exclusivity. Which it seems is a big big deal for some people.

For the rest of the world, the RS gets standard CF buckets, rear roll cage, racing harnesses, competition fire extinguisher, and a plexi rear window all standard, so in other markets it truly is a track-oriented car with a justified price premium.

Even if these parts were allowed by the US DOT, the car would have to be crash-tested with them, which may not be cost-effective for limited runs like the CLK63 BS (350) and GT3RS (259). Not to mention potential future legal issues for providing "racing" parts on a street vehicle.
I posted some pic's from last night on the E55 forum:
