Is the Black Series just a 08 model or will there be 09's

Maybe they are waiting to decide on actual engine figures until BMW releases the new M3 and they get some real world performance figures on it. We all know M-B and BMW have been in "Power Struggle" over the past several years. M-B has become famous for one-upping BMW in the HP wars over the past 4-5 years.

.........why does this not suprise me? Sell the CLK63 BS for $130K to a few AMG diehards. Tell them no fixed roof CLK will be coming to the US, then introduce the fixed roof CLK63 with the same HP minus the track car stuff to the rest of us for $70K. The first time the AMG CLK will not be playing second fiddle to the rest of the AMG line up. It should do very well. I keep making my point, folks should stop falling for the marketing hype.

I'm not quite sure why everyone is second guessing what a bad a-ss car AMG produced.
PS - if that car is made...there is no way it'll have a manual tranny.

If the CLK63 Black Series returns for the 2009 model year it might have the transmission (MCT) from the 09' SL63 which appears to be the 7G-Tronic minus the torque converter, it being repaced by some type of wet clutch pack or something similar. Details are sketchy on this until the 09' SL63 info is released.

.........I'm not sure where everyone is getting $100K from for the fixed roof CLK63. Are you just trying to make it look more expensive and not worth it? It will have to be priced less than the E63. the E63 is $90K. So if indeed this car comes stateside, expect it to be around $75-80K which will be a very good deal.
.......The CLK63 fixed roof as I understand it already exists in this current chasis in Europe.
......As far as HP is concered, the C63 already has 475HP, so the CLK63 fixed roof if it comes stateside will be expected to have more HP than the C63. Why does the HP on the CLK63 fixed roof matter to BS fans? I thought the BS was all about the "track performance" so why do you care?
........AGAIN. If you like a car, buy it. Don't fall for the marketing nonsense. No MB is not build it just for you and protect your investment. You are not their brother. It is a simply a business transaction. MB is in business to make money. The AMG CLK represents a golden opportunity for MB to build a reasonably priced sporty coupe that it can sell in high numbers. Why is this not clear to everyone? So you think that in order to keep the 300 or so CLK63 BS owners in the US happy, MB will give up on the potential millions of dollars that it could make from the CLK63 fixed roof in the US?
.........I have no special knowledge that the CLK63 fixed roof is indeed coming to the Us, but from the way people are reacting it appears they bought their CLK63 BS for the wrong reasons.

I really don't see a regular CLK63 coming here until the next generation CLK, but we'll see.

...........Back to cars. As far as CLK63 fixed roof coming to the US this generation or next generation: here is my quote.
.......Do you have any comments about my comments regarding pricing, HP etc of the CLK63 fixed roof or do you just want to play Dr. Phil on Mbworld?

Anyway I would expect a regular CLK63 Coupe to be about 20K more than a CLK550 coupe as usual AMG practice. If they do decide to try a regular AMG CLK coupe again.
