Stiggs,
The "so wrong" part is "I hope the economy continues to tank". If your dream comes true, then your house and everything you own has also tanked. Eventually, your livelihood goes with it. Seems like a dumb thing to wish for. Until you back away from that, nothing you say has any merit. Everything about you is wrong. AS

I've got news for you smart guy, you have none of it.

So please go back to Off Topic or the CLS board or where ever people enjoy your insightful and witty jabs b/c I'm sensing not many folks here do.

Besides, you're way behind the TOW post you better get going....

you realize that OT posts dont actually count towards your over all post count? They havent for some time... But yay you actually found that button that shows how many posts people have in each thread... good for you... If you wanted to count OT posts, I myself have 23+k posts... And I have prolly given more to the MB/ AMG community then you could even comprehend...

I for one will echo Stiggs on his comments... This economy isn't because any one person wished ill will on it... it is because too many people stretched themselves beyond there means... For those of us who are responsible with our money, it is a good time to have money because EVERYTHING is on fire sale... even you beloved BS... I was present at the AMG release party at the NYIAS on press night... it was a great car, maybe one day I will be fortunate enough to own one... but in the mean time, EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING is now on sale at a deep discount... including your own cars, MB's during a good economy were having trouble on resale value, why would you all think anything different of the value in a slumping economy... when S,SL,CL 65s are 100k less a year or 2 later... Roughly 6 months ago I was begining to think about purchasing my first home for rental property... now with the direction things are going, I can purchase 2 pieces of rental property... I am not gonna lie, I can benefit from this economy... and I dont mind it. Having said that... am I in the market for a BS? NO, I'm 26, I do well for myself, not well enough to purchase a BS... but there are other cars I would rather have for less money that I could afford that I would pick over the BS

Holy **** talk about a thread hi-jack!! Damn guys, looking to sell the Black Series merely to make room for a car I have wanted for a long time... a Lamborghini. Do not need to sell the car and do not need a Lambo. I have been offered ~77-79k for trade-in. Gonna work the retail route and see where it takes me. In this market I feel as though switching cars would really just be like hedging the risk. If I can save enough money on the price of a Gallardo then I can justify the loss on the black series.

I think that jump is WELL worth it... earlier this year a buddy of mine purchased an 05 Yellow Pearl Gallardo... THAT CAR IS A BEAST

The sound, the acceleration, the experience at high speeds... DEF DEF worth it... Also whether you are looking for it or not... prepare for some SERIOUS amount of attention(this varies by region) Here in Boston, there are a handfull of exotics so people are always snapping pictures... I was riding passenger one night and we stopped at a gas station... I jumped out to buy some gum and had about 5 people talking to me about the car...

Pete, don't bother. They just don't get it.

I'll lay low for a while and come back on here when the BS prices drop some more.

yeah... I see that he said keep dropping baby... I agree... as it drops further, what I have is able to buy more.

I have enough other members who offer them up for me when I earn them. Since I know stiggs outside of the forums, I understand that a bit of his humor is lost online... but he speaks the truth and there is nothing wrong with it... as the economy goes down the tubes the money I have is worth more... Do I wish this country to go into a depression? NO, but if the bottom doesnt hit for some time more, I am ok with it, I have enough to fall back on if my current position was to no longer exist.

Now after saying that... While the value on the black series is dropping like a lead brick, so are the prices of everything else including the lambo the OP is looking at... After all there were only TWO manufacturers who did not report losses in 2009... Bentley and Ferrari...

Anyways, if any of you are up in the Boston area, make sure to PM me, we can get together for a drink and a cigar or something.

And to the OP... check out lambopower.com and some of the twin turbo kits that are out for the G car.

You might want to check your facts: Audi 4th quarter earnings in 2008 !!! Profit and losses are not posted for 2009 by ANY manufacturer.

Does this mean you guys are leaving? Yee-haw! I don't blame you, I would leave too, cuz we'll just never get it...... your way anyway (hateful, rude, ignorant, arrogant and condescending). You seasoned, respected, hating, PW, OGs just can't seem to get it through our CLK63 BS drivin a$$es just how stupid we are to think that cars are NOT depreciating assets.....Duh! Thanks for the lesson. It's been nice chatting with you, I enjoyed it. Later fellas!

After reading through this thread, I wasted time. It's another display of disrespectful bantering, reminds me of a thread posted "wtf happened to our forum" (MBWorld). It's just a car for sell, it's really not that serious.

I can understand wanting to sell a car at the price you want. I also understand how the market is at present as well. You sell a car for as much as you can get, people want to buy one for as low as they can get.

For now, the market is in favor of the buyers. Nite.

Clearly, you are not familiar with the term INFLATION. As with any recession and/or depression....inflation is almost guaranteed. Especially with the government pouring hundreds of billions of $'s into the mkt as a last ditch effort to stop the bleeding.

That's what I remembered seeing as well. Sales have sucked across the board for cars, that's old news. Thousands of cars of all makes are sitting on dock parking lots, with no buyers. Thanks for the clarification!

Respectfully, you are mistaken. Massive deflation occurred during the Great Depression, not inflation. If anything, deflation will occur again, not inflation.

The government's capital contribution is a drop in the bucket compared to 10 trillion dollars in wealth wiped out from home values declining on a linear scale, and stock equity dissipation the likes of which we have not seen since the Great Depression. And mix in massive job loss and you have forces at work that make inflation highly unlikely.

That's why the Fed is focused on cutting key interest rates to zero until the economy begins to show signs of recovering. Therefore, inflation will not occur until 2010/2011, if not later.

P.S. Thanks to a good friend, I drove a B.S. in Arizona for almost three straight days last week. Returned home today. Wow! I've changed my mind about this car after really putting it through its paces. It is an animal unleashed! The more you drive it, the more you appreciate it. I'm tempted now. I'm not waiting for prices to drop. It's a fantastic bargain right now, even if luxury cars are dropping.

Happy New Year everyone!

Im assuming you are the same CreditMan from FChat. I think I recall you originally not being too impressed with the car last year based solely on following behind it on the street in a regular CLK 63 cab. Glad to see some actual seat time changed your mind. Now you can understand why it replaced my Maranello.

Well this old guy knows the BS market is tanking and that the earth's yearly trip around the sun doesn't seem to take as long as it used to and before I know it, a BS will be parked in my garage- for a severely discounted price.

BTW, this is possibly the most interesting thread this pretentious BS forum has seen.
Your knowledge is simply mind boggling, "the BS market is tanking" WOW, REALLY? Show me am vehicle in the auto market that is not tanking right now, even hybrids are flopping around like a fish out of water in this economy. Us guys who already own a Black Series know exactly what we own, you can't put a price on that. Besides, I am not planning on selling or trading my BS anytime soon so I could care less what the "value" of the car is. I feel sorry for guys like you that think you have it all figured out, have a master plan, yet you are sitting on the outside looking in. Keep pinching those pennies and maybe you can own one in 2-3 years, it will still be a great car in 2-3 years but it will be yesterday's news and you will still be on the outside looking in at the next great thing to come along.

You should be proud of yourself and the knowledge and insight you bring to this forum and discussion

A self-made man would never mock penny pinching. Until you cultivate a semblance of substance, please don't offer your self-serving pity.

No problem with penny pinchers, I come from a long line of penny pinchers. I do have a problem with people like you that try to dish it out but can't take it. You try to come across as some kind of an expert on auto values, and then throw in a couple of low blow insults about current BS owmers, do me and the others a favor, go pinch your pennies elsewhere and buy a Prius while you are at it.
