10 Most Ticketed Cars

4. Mercedes Benz CLK63 AMG
If you're lucky enough to have a Mercedes AMG -- any AMG -- then a few tickets are worth unleashing this luxurious beast. Besides, if you've got a Mercedes, you can probably afford a few traffic citations.

Sadly, its the very same attitude that many cops have.

I seldom see a CLK63 around town-- never mind one tearing a$$ like tomorrows ending. I find it hard to believe... I honestly see more SL65s then CLK63s...

If "most ticketed" means "greatest number of tickets per 100 cars sold", then JR alone might have gotten us into the ticket hall of fame. There are lots more Scions, but with only a few hundred BS in the road, 3 tickets will result in a 1/100 incidence, which is probably higher than most cars. So, thanks JR for helping us reach another milestone!! AS

That article just lists CLK63's as one of the top 10 most ticketed cars.

So that would include not only the relatively small sample of CLK63 Black Series cars
(with the sampling skewed thanks to JRCart's Herculean efforts )
but also includes all of the other AMG CLK63's (Convertibles and Coupes) that are out there on the ribbon of asphalt.

All in all, still a small number, but much larger than just the CLK63 Black Series, alone.

Since there are no CLK 63 coupes sold in North America and not many more CLK 63 cabrios produced than CLK Black Series' I find this difficult to believe, unless it is per 100 vehicles as AS mentioned. I believe the north american numbers for 63 cabs and Black Series combined is less than 1000 vehicles total.

I've done my part. Funny though, as I thought the BS would be a bit more stealth. I have never been ticketed in my other sports cars.

That data has to be based on percentage of cars sold.Imagine if 10 FXX owners got tickets that would be 33% of all FXX owners.860bhp @9500 rpm some of them must get ticketed !!!!
OOPs forgot they aren't road legal

I didn't get a ticket yet in my BS, but that has more to do with incredible luck than anything else. I'm not trying to make an effort, but sooner or later it will happen.

Insurance company underwriters eat this sh-t up. Hello, their selling these statistics to insurance companies. Based upon limited production figures one model is going to be scored higher with only one ticket. These stats are bought by smaller boutique insurance companies who don't develop their own underwriting. The boutique companies want the larger personal lines premium clients WHO have higher end cars (MB, Hummers BMWs) and bigger homes. In a previous life in hell, I ran several insurance companies.

I forgot to add, many states require that the rates are based on driving records not the vehicle. Progressive and several other companys belive your prone to unsafe driving based on the vehicle and this study is the bases for the premium upcharge. It's been widely refuted with reliable underwriting studies that this is not the case.

I'm such a n00b I actually thought the 6.3 was only on the BS and the standard CLK's were 'just' 55's. Didn't know they made non-BS CLK63's!

Yes they produce both an AMG CLK63 coupe and a CLK63 cabrio. For some reason, only the cabrio comes to the US, other than the BS.

I guess MB didn't want the coupe to compete with the Black
