Brakes

I just have some very quick question for those of you who track the car.

1) What brake fluid do you guys use?

2) Are OEM pads good enough for track days or is there aftermarket pads for the car?

3) How many track days do you guys go to before you replace pad, rotor, fluid?

4) Has anyone warped their rotors doing track days?

Stock MB fluid.

OEM pads have been fine.

Only 2 so far, no problems.

Not me.
"Warped" rotors are often mistaken for micro build up of pad material on the rotors. I haven't experienced it with this car, but on others as you drive home and apply the brakes, the shuddering makes you think you've toasted your rotors.
I wait until they cool down, apply water, let them sit overnight, then in the morning on a cold rotor, a couple of quick stabs on the brakes removes all that build up and magically the rotors are unwarped. YMMV

The stock Corsa tires are great too.

DFW answered already all the questions. The only difference, I replaced the stock rotors in the rear with two piece rotors. I went up on wheel and tire size and changed the set up on the suspension. I changed the stock paper filters to aftermarket ones, which I highly recommend, especially if you take the car to the track. Unless you run an endurance race, you won't warp the rotors.

Impressive, I just hope the C63's brakes will be 1/2 as good as the BS's. Plan on taking it to the track in June. The track is notoriously hard on brakes because there isn't a real main straight to cool them down.

On a really tight course, the fronts will fade.
I haven't had the material build-up problem on the BS, but in other cars, i've just stuck it in second and driven with the brakes and gas on. takes about a half mile, then let them cool down. Shudder gone. AS
