my CLK63 BS... for sale?
Anyway, I wanted to test the waters to see if anyone would be interested in assuming my lease. It's a 60 month/12,000mi annual standard lease through Mercedes-Benz and the payment is only $1602.89. The first payment was in October 2008 so you'll have about 52 months before you can opt to purchase or turn her in. As of this moment there are only 7,445mi on the clock. Of course it's in flawless condition and all service is up to date.
If you are interested please send me a PM. I don't think opportunities to own a car like this for this cheap come that often, which is why I'm having a really tough time letting her go. I just have too many other hobbies eating up too much of my money to have it all

When I bought mine the lease numbers were astronomical. You must have put a huge amount down ??

edit: just wanted to say that your numbers are forgetting one thing, the interest that you'd pay over the life of the lease. If you were to lease any other car with a net cap of 96k your payments would be way higher than mine.

Here are the lease numbers I ran from MBUSA just a second ago for a 09 SL550 for comparison. Whether you'd have a slightly used CLK63 BS or SL550, well, that's up to you.

And here are the lease numbers for a SL600, about the same as a CLK63 if you paid full sticker. *cough*

60 months Luke cures most payment woes but it hooks you in for the whole time. If I lease, its 24 months since I have CAR ADD. But check my numbers below and you will see that his payment should be much less based on cost, IF he didnt have a negative equity trade.

You cant add his full payment to your equation (to determine what he paid)since some of his payment is sales tax (if VA is not upfront) and the dreaded MBCC lease money factor which must be heinous on car like this and its cap cost. What you determined is his total cost if he keeps the car for 60 months and if he pays out the residual interest free (cash buyout).
If the OP didnt have a neg trade then his net cap would have been around 83k minus the 49k residual and he would have 34k in depreciation over 60 months which is about 567 dollars plus the MBCC MF (lets say .00375). So we take net cap of 83k plus the 49k times .00375 and we get 495 dollars in MF which brings us to 1062 plus sales tax (lets say 8%) so his payment is 1146.00. This is if the OP paid 83k and the residual was correct at 60 and the MF is correct. The neg trade must have been huge if no down was involved to get to the 1603 per month number (if the MF was .00375) but either way the OP was buried in a trade.
I just checked my papers again, originally the price was 88k but the dealer gave me 5k while we were working on the numbers, apparently he put that towards my trade which put me pretty close to even after a couple thousand I put down (I assumed it was towards the car, but I guess it doesn't matter). After taxes and fees my net cap was just over 98k. It doesn't show my MBCC MF but I believe its around .004. It's kind of funny how the sum of the payments work though, I'm pretty much leasing the car for free but at full MSRP.
