What would you get?
Ok everyone,
Here is my question. I would like to know what you think and if you have any suggestions for me.
I am looking to buy a set of m40 HRE wheels. My questions is what size should I go with?
1st option
19 X 9 in front
19 X 10.5 rear
2nd option
19 X 9
19 x 11
3rd option - With this option my front tires will be 255 (narrower than OEM which is 265)
20 x 9
20 x 10.5
I am not a track Junkie, although i go to at least one event a year. I do a fair deal deal of canyon driving as well. I do care more about ride feel and handling than i do about looks. your opinions are appreciated.

Option 2 - widest rear track if possible... 20's are too big for this car IMHO.
And M40's are a face forward wheel so they look big for their diameter; 19's will be perfect.

Plus 2. You are not going to get much performance advantage going to an aftermarket wheel with this car... unless of course you go with the Dymags. Personally, I would spend the money on the Evosport headers and a tune - much bigger performance bang for your buck.

The reaon why I am looking for wheels is the fact that I belive that there isnt enough rear tire for the power this car makes. I cnt get the car to hook up under accelration, in straight line or coming out of turns. I need more rubber in the rear.

I agree entirely and it only gets worse as the tires wear.

Are you running the stock Corsas ? If so, you shouldn't have any problem putting the power down unless your tires are shot. How many miles on your tires ? Remember, the Corsas take a LONG time to get up to temp. I guarantee you normal street driving will not get them up to temp whatsoever. To give you an idea of exactly how long it takes to get them up to temp....last time out at Willow, me on my Michelins and Jimmy on his Corsas, he couldn't keep up with me for the first 2laps out...but as soon as his Corsas were up to temp he was ALL OVER ME. 2 laps on the big track at willow means you have to be pushing it HARD for a long time on the street to even get them up to operating temp. Also, if you have more than a couple track days on the Corsas, they are most likely gone. The R compound is only good for about 15-20 heat cycles, MAX.
Just so you know, I went with Michelin PS2's and I love them for the street and occasional track day. They get up to temp quick and stay there. First gear WOT and of course you will spin...but take a look at the video below. I'm in third gear WOTwith only a slight amount of tail wiggle mid turn. I'm putting the power down no prob and do not feel this car needs a wider tire - it just needs GOOD tires in GOOD shape.

Get lost idiot or keep it on topic, or take it to PM like you did last time you made a stupid comment for no apparent reason.

LZH, not wishing anyone bodily harm. Maybe a VM conviction would put you in your element.
I was a NOOB once upon a time ago, before you were born, let alone knew what a car was.

LZH, you told me to go back and read all of your posts. I did. Not very impressive from a technical aspect considering your chosen career path. A lot of drama no real meat. You are proving yourself to be a capital "L" LOSER.

Really ?? Please tell me how my post here #8 demonstrates being a poser ?? Becasue as I see it, my post details both on and off track experience as well as real world data adressing the OP's original question. All you've done here is show us all what POSER you really are. And while you're at it, please post pics of your Black Series becasue you have been officially CALLED OUT...

Ooh, I am "called out", how scary. Your seat of the pants experience is probably far more analytical than my camber gauge, pyrometer, tire gauge and skid pad. I just wish that I had your vast experience so that I wouldn't have to waste so much time before giving advice. Your ability to expound the obvious, without the ability or expertise to examine the subtleties is profound.

What "subtleries" are you referring to ??? The ones you measure with your "camber gauge" "pyrometer" and "tire gauge" ??? LOL
This is the second time I'll ask you....if you have so much experience on and off the track, and own a BS...then you should have some good input for the OP, right ?? Enlighten us...Please tell us all how my post #8 shows I am a poser and please give us your counterpoints.
Interesting with all your "profound" knowledge, your last PM to me you stated that the SL 65 BS use a 5 speed dual clutch trans with no torque converter..

Back on topic,
I don't know where to start as all the options in my opinion are terrible from a performance point of view. If you just want a different look OK.
If you want to improve the handling you need to go wider on the front. I'd bump the front's to 9.5 and the rears 10.5. You can go wider but tire selection becomes the problem.
I happen to agree with LZH, pretty hard to beat the factory set up unless you go DyMags.
