Does anyone know of a company that make/sell a harness bar for clk black series ? I don't really want a roll cage just a bar to attach the harness to. Any idea if the clk dtm harness bar fits into a black series ?

Thanks.

I have one in titanium. It ties into the factory shoulder harness mount so no drilling was necessary. I'll try to get you some pictures but I might fail. Keep getting a message that the picture is too big. Maybe I will have to Email you if you are still interested.

The DTM harness bar will not fit due to the seat belt motor and housing. DTM dosen't have the motorized seat belt.

sorry guys. Still too stupid to post a picture (I've been trying). The bar mounting bracket replaces the motor that hands you the belt. It was made by a local machine shop. I probably still have a drawing around here somewhere. I'd be glad to forward the drawing. Your local shop could probably fabricate the parts.
If someone wanted to E-mail me an address I could probably send them some photos and maybe they could post them on this forum.

You mean like this? Call Evosport, they offer one, I have it in my car, they can wrap in in leather or alcantara and it looks like a factory installed option.

Thanks for posting the picture JR. That looks great in your car; but to be honest I don't really need a half cage, just the horizontal harness bar. Hopefully this would save me a fair chunk of change and the need to drill holes all over the car. I did check Evosports web site but did not see a harness bar.

Cheers,
Lsb.

Using a harness without a rollbar/cage is generally not a good idea.

the harness helps keep you planted so that you can better drive the car.

I think that the point that he was trying to make was that using the harness bar without a supporting roll bar might result in the driver being planted, permanently, after a rollover severe enough to lower the vehicle's roof.

Understood. A rollbar is definitely the way to go. My point is that anything that makes you a better driver (such as a harness) is not a bad thing.

I would not be too concerned with the mounting, this is the cleanest install you will find, looks factory and minimal holes drilled. Also it can be removed and put back to stock and you would never even know it was in there.
