19" AMG V 16-spoke...holding up?
Has anyone experienced problems with their OEM wheels on the BS?
I am in the process of ordering a C63 and wanted to have the 19" wheel pkg. (offered as an option for Europe) however was told this wouldn't be possible...as the U.S. is included on a list of countries where the roads are not suitable for this wheel.
My understanding is that the C63 wheel is identical to the ones delivered on the BS. Hence placing my question on this forum.
I have scannd through the posts on the BS forum and haven't come across anything indicating a problem. However thought it would be best to ask just to be sure.
If there are no widespread issues with this wheel I will go ahead and have my dealer order a set.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the insight on cast vs. forged. I'm surprised M-B would put cast wheels on their AMG line. However this would explain why they are having cracking issues.
Thanks
PS Good to know there are other 'believers' out there.

I am not sure what wheels come on the C63 in europe or what wheel options are given to customers in Europe but the wheels on the US C63 look absolutely nothing like the BLK Series wheels. OTher that that I have had no issues with my wheels. No cracking or any kind of discoloration due to heat and reagular spirited driving.

I don't experience cracking as much as bending. I've had a couple of sets of wheels repaired now (which works fine as long as the bent isn't too big and no cracks).

Aside from the slightly different design of both 19inch alloy rims. I believe the problem with the C63 versus the CLK63 Black series is the thickness of the tires as the thicker the tyre the more protection for the rim.
The C63 has the following profile: 235/35 R19 front and 255/30 R19 rear.
The CLK 63 has: 265/30 R19 front and 285/30 R19 rear
As you can see the tires of the CLK Black Series are thicker than the C63 AMG. That gives them an edge in protection against potholes. The 30 in 265/30 means the thickness of the sidewall is 30% of 265 (mm).

Alls you need to do is look at a picture of them both and you will see they look nothing like each other.

In this example the C63 front tire should handle a pothole better as the distance between the road and the rim would be 2.75 mm more.
For street tires, typically the more aspect ratio the more compliant the tire will feel as it has more rubber to take up shocks ect.

Offset is fine, I currently run 31 on the back and 30 on the front. PCD/bore should be the same I think..
My stock wheels are 28.5 lbs (front) 33lbs (rear), will I notice the difference?
