tyres for road and tyres for track
Hi Guys,
Hope you can help me with any experience re tyres other than the Pirelli OE. I will have to replace my tyres in the very near future and I believe the OE tyres are to good to drive on the normal roads at 110Kmh.
I have 5500km on same and I have liked them, though I have been looking
via a racing instructor friend to fit Toyo Proxes888 for the track on O.Z Ultraleggera wheels, and maybe use the O.E wheels with a set of Yokohama Advan Sport tyres or Continental Sport Contact 3.for the boring road trips.
Any comments would be appreciated.

I use Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's on the street and put 7,500 on the rears and I'm at 11,000 on the fronts with a bit left. I'm sure I'll get to 12k, beyond that is an added bonus.
On the track I've only used Corsa's and they're on Ultralegerra's.
I vote that you try Hoosiers and let us know what you think!

I just love the corsas that the car comes with...wont track this car, but If I did I would have no problem slapping on some hoosier r100 slicks (the only thing Ill put on the racecar other than the michelin slicks that are like twice as expensive).

Thanks for the replies, I would love to try the Hoosier Slicks though they dont come in the OE sizes at home , would have to source from Tire Rack
maybe the next set they also have a UTQG of 40.
You are all correct in that the Corsa tyres are great and I should probably
use them again. The Ultraleggeras will be what I buy for rims as the EO in Australia are 21K for the set .Jim I looked at the Bridgestone REO50A Pole Position tyres after I sent post and they look fine I have used Bridgestone semi slicks on my E55 and no problems they make a good tyre.

I think the 18inch will fit over the calipers ,though I believe it is a clearance problem with part of the suspension.

Hi, I would like to kindly ask you for your advices and share your thoughts. I have been using Toyo Observe GSI-5 275/45 r20 tyres for My 2014 ML 350 and the experience was super smooth in winter. Steering felt really smooth, but after shifting to summer tyres which came with the car continental extremecontact dws06 (275/45 r20) steering become really heavy, basically hard to turn and this is very noticeable while comparing with the experience on winter tires I have used. Any comments ? Thanks in advance for your help.
