Looking to get into CLK BS
The reason for this post is two fold. First, are there any known issues I should keep my eye out for as the search begins?
Second, any one want to sell me their car?![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thanks!!

No real issues with the car it is rather bullet proof, with the exception of eatting tires...as far as your second question NO.

spot on with the tires, I'd love to have some new rubbers right now; was just cruising on PCH the other day, traction on & just maybe a little over 50% foot down on a dig, the rear was slipping already... :/

Very few tires made that fit...the Corsa is unbearable on the street as they wear.
I went with Conti EC DWS which made the car very streetable even in the wet.

Consider the Bridgestone RE-11's they are better than the Corsa's all the way around in my opinion, and a lot cheaper.

Do thhe Bridgestone RE-11 come in the BS size?
The Conti EC DWS are under $1K for the set of four and have a UTQG of 540 A A compared to the Corsa 60 AA A....not as sticky as the Corsa but doesn't need to be heated up especially on the street to get traction like the Corsa's.

I encourage you to jump head first into getting a CLK63 Black Series. Any true 'car guy' needs to own one in their life. The cars are seriously fun to drive, and you NEVER see another one on the road. I have seen (4) of them total in my entire life, and (2) of them were cars that I had intentionally driven hundreds of miles to see....so that means that I have only ever seen (2) in normal life. They are super rare...and awesome.

Saw the car at the LA car show back in 2007 ... went to the dealer the next day and bought it
. I guess it depends on where you live, but back than there were 4 or 5 at track days ... most of the owners were ex Porsche guys. I have a pic somewhere with all of them lined up in Willow Springs.
As far as tires ... I'd stay away from the Conti DWS. Tried them out on my E63 M6 ... not enough grip and too much sidewall flex ... and that was on an M6 where you can adjust the suspension on the fly. Having them on the CLK would be defeating the purpose of having the car in the first place. They were great in the rain, but that's about it.

You'll notice a big difference coming from a 996TT to a BS. I went the other way and have regretted it ever since. You'll love the BS, it's just raw whereas the TT is a better DD.

Not sure how they "defeat the purpose of having the car in the first place"
Nothing at all wrong with them, meet the limits that the BS can be driven safely on the street.
Much better then the Corsa's in cold or wet weather.
Why have a "street" tire that can't provide grip in cold and rain or even a bit of snow ?
The BS doesn't have many choices and the DWS is the only UHP all season made in the staggered BS sizes.

Wasn't there some slang saying about "once you go black you never go back". I thought my AMG cars where great in the past years. Now driving the Black Series, its a whole other level of refined muscle car excitement and true joy! ;-)
Second Meeyatch1 notion, every car guy has to drive a Black Series at least once in their life!

See post from H&G Motorsports 7/11/13. Weekend Warrior is available. Several offers from bottom fishers but no one wanting a fully developed car with all the right upgrades at a huge discount. This car has never been tracked and allot of time an money spent making improvements by people who know what they are doing. The car is the right color to show the body work, has the aggressive looks, all the carbon fiber, and performs at a much higher level of handling, braking, and acceleration all balanced. Everything that needed fixing when AMG delivered the car has been. It had a bunch more potential. It took years for the aftermarket to address it with parts. This car has had many parts replaced with new except the engine internals. It's currently getting H&G's new adjustable rear control arms which will soon be on the market.
It is fresh, clean and not thrashed. Contact Dieter at H&G Motorsports for details or send a private message with your phone if you want to discuss more with me.

Switch Cars has a silver one available...appears bone stock...odo picture shows 6600 mi. As discussed, purchased mine from Doug and he appears to be a stand-up guy who only deals in quality cars...I'd work with him again.
