RE: 65K example, sure, why not? It's not a Ferrari and it doesn't come w/items on other MB's that fail and are costly to service, notably the ABC and multi-function seats. It will show signs of age as would any 7 yr. old car, and yeah, things will break. But that'll happen in any other car this old. In my 1 1/2 yrs of ownership, mine has just required oil changes. A/C's a little weak but that may be attributable to the Texas heat and low refrigerant.
RE: the 2 CLK BS's at that dealership in TX and commentary, it's speculation. True, they have been sitting for a while and don't have stock rims, but I'd approach that opportunistically to leverage a drop in price. Only way to know for sure is to have a PPI performed and do some due dill on prior owners. Unless someone on here has already done the homework and wishes to share...
In terms of bang-for-the-buck fun car, you're in the right isle. GL w/your search.

2008 CLK63 Black Series; 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser; 2015 BMW R1200GSA; 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo (gone)
Good condition, no accidents, little/no track time and a book of maintenance stamps...would take it in a minute at a low $40K price point. Hope the 17K mile car has some hidden issues. If not, prices on these cars, having held steady for a while, are sliding even lower

yeah - i remember reading on a different thread not to touch the texas direct one. Something about even the rear diffuser wasn't CF and was just a flat black one. I believe there were some other oddities about it too.
