Build the most powerful cls550 4matic
So, after 1000 miles, and after adaption, the car should run perfect i assume.
Hows this CLS550 compare to your CLS63 ?? still huge difference in between ?
from a dig the 550 is too fast due to the 4matic. From a roll the 550 make 5-6 cars on 800-1000m length stretch. After all the 63 has only ECU and exhaust and no meth.Yes after the initial 1000 miles you can punish the car as hard as you can and no worry for the gerabox. My 550 has thousands of kickdowns with not a single issue.

That's exciting!!!
Wish me luck in this process.
Thanks for the valuable info again.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
My ecu will be sent out for the tune during turbo swap.
Hopefully, when I plug ecu back on, it will run without any issue.
Wish me luck!!
Does exhaust note, sound and characteristics change at all ? like back fire popping or crackle sound ??
My tech will have time after March 13th...looks like i gotta wait abit.

traction control blinks even with 4matic with LSD at 140km/h. Will need front lsd too lol

By just eyeing the seconds...
0-100 kph in just 3.5 sec
100-200 mph in just 7 sec.
What a Monster!!!
All those cooling upgrade, are you able to share what have you got and done ??
I am worry about heat soak.
(there was no info as this is the first build m278) Here are some pictures of my cooling setup including the two oil coolers at the front and the Meth in the trunk (pictures taken while installation in progress).
The bottom line: I have invested ~17-20k USD in the build. If i build it again will go under 13-14k as some parts are not required (same as the m278 engine). The most expensive are the M157 turbochargers that you can get as low as 4-5k second hand (they need to be less than 30k miles) and new up to 10k, ECU tuning about 2-3k (few sessions included), intercooler system upgrade 1.5k, Aquamist hfs4 1k, oil cooler upgrade (not needed if your engine is equiped with oil cooler from the factory) 1k including the oil lines and AN10 hoses and AN10 fittings, Exhaust system, full dual 3 inch from the turbochargers to the mufflers 4-7k. Turbo-back downpipes are required (for example my cls63 fell off a cliff after 5.8k rpm -100hp till redline due to restricted flow of the stock turbo-back downpipes), Quaife LSD 1.5k, AMG front and back brakes (required!!) 3k. Labor for engine removal (turbocharges installation) 380 USD here in Bulgaria LOL.. All other installations except the ECU tune are performed by me
including the build of the exhaust, downpipes (including 3d printing and 3d design), meth installation, cooler installations etc..Overall i preffer this car over any rear wheel drive 700hp+ AMG
Will check for the ECU tune and will let you know.
Just wondering, if your tuner can tune E550 ? by using the file of yours ?
I am thinking having second ECU sent to your tuner for the same tune you have got there.
But i am also worry about the Fuel module you have done there.

Unfortunately, they don't have experience with such project.
They don't have ecu file for this tune.
But if you bring your car to them, i believe they can dyno tune your car at their facility.
i am super excited. Car will be in the shop by March 15th.
Whole thing probably will take a week.
ECU tuning is the part i worry the most actually.
But I trust the tuner i choose!!
I might drive down to California one day...lol
I have retrofited the AMG fuel pumps with success. Used the original Fuel pump controller but rearrange the wires to be able to run the pump. No more fuel pressure drops under any load. Will schedule dyno session in the next 10 days to see the final result. The car is very very fast 0-200km/h under 10 sek.
As i remember additional ground wire was needed. You have three phases and one ground (the ground on the stock pump is not connected at all). You have to connect the ground (from the plug that connects to your fuel pump) to the chassis ground. The AMG fuel pump is connected with Star Connection (Y): 3 Phase circuit and you need the ground to chassis to work. If the pump is not working right swap the two of the three phases in the plug.
